I'm trying to master Sivir and I have no real idea as to how I should build her. I just got crushed, even though the random team I was playing with won. So I came to Mobafire, selected the guide written by Meridianprime, read half of it and now I'm going back into normal to play again. Lost. Again. But this time my stats were 4/5/4 so I didn't feel awful. Meridianprime's core build suggestion was working really well. I had just purchased Phantom Dancer before our team surrendered.
Sivir is a counterpick. Try picking sivir into caitlyn (eat her traps for infinite mana, and block q's if you're fast) or taric (slow *** stun you can bait for extra mana)
I think sivir is playable in the right matchups, IE really slow spells you can see coming (zed) that you can absorb. She can't really trade due to high mana costs and short range, but if you like her, you can make her effective in a few matchups.
Ehh I'm pretty sure Sivir in no way counters Caitlyn. Free mana is nice and all but it doesn't make up for a 150 range differential. In my opinion the matchup is highly in Caityn's favor, although it could work out with the right support if you're able to avoid getting harassed out of the lane.
I think Sivir with 550 range would be pretty broken tbh.
I'd like to see 525 range myself. It'd make her an interesting alternative to Graves.

To be fair, I don't think this matchup goes so well in practice. You can just delay skilling W as Caitlyn to deny her free mana sustain and give yourself a stronger net. You still have a 150 range advantage that's really easy to abuse.
