Tim looked at Jack “Dude Super Fighter is the best thing in the world besides hanging out with Bob.”
Wrestling practice wasn’t the same for Jack. Kendra’s words echoed in his head. Jack came in last place in sprints and couldn’t beat the new wrestlers in king of the ring. After his first match Jack’s coach pulled him aside.
“Jack, what’s going on? You’re not yourself today I can see it in everything you’re doing.” His coach said. Jack’s hugged him and said “listen bud, you can tell me anything, I gotta make sure your good for this Saturday.”
Jack looked at him embracing the hug and said “ I got rejected and it’s just stuck in my head.”
Jack’s coach looked at him and said “Well you know what Jack, I think after this Saturday you could have any girl on this campus. Think about it we are hosting the tournament, which means our students will attend, all you need to do is be yourself and win.” “Ok” jack said.

After practice Jack logged onto “Super Fighter” and joined the Ghetto Comeback Kids in a pre game chat room. The team was assembled and they were ready to have fun.
Tim typed to Jack “Dude, what was up at practice? You were doing terrible.”
Jack replied “I got rejected in a sense by this girl. I have a chance to get her, but I gotta practice saying would you go out with me?”
Rice typed “Dude stop being a wimp, if she said yes then you should have no problem finishing a sentence.”
Bob then typed “dude we need you to play Lockjaw, he’s free this week. And after this game we gonna take you out and give you a morale boost.”

Then the game began. Instead of waiting at his tower like he did with Chuck he went into the bush and waited. He saw his enemy, a 7 foot tall man made of brown stone with a hammer as long as his body. Its blood red eyes peered into the bush as if it knew he was there.
“**** dude that’s Gorem, the most overpowered character in the game and your counter.” Tim typed.
“What do I do?” Jack asked
“You just gotta get up when he knocks you down and never give up.” Bob typed.
Ten minutes into the game Lockjaw sat in the bush waiting to attack Gorem. Then Gorem came charging at Lockjaw his hammer raised above his head ready to smash his skull open. Lockjaw dived to the right and shot a bullet into him only to have Gorem turn around and swing his hammer in a wild arc that barely missed Lockjaw’s nose. Lockjaw followed up with a few slashes to the Gorem’s back with his cutlass. Then Gorem did a back flip over Lockjaw and kicked him making him fly back and hit a wall.
“C’mon Jack you got this GCK. Ghetto Comeback Kids” Ross typed.
Lockjaw raised his pistol; whoever hit the other first would most likely win the lane. Lockjaw pulled the trigger as Gorem was following up with his hammer. The bullet flew from the barrel of the gun and penetrated Gorem’s abdomen. Then the mighty Gorem fell to the ground dead, The Ghetto Comeback Kids began to cheer and fought harder than before. They pushed to the enemy base and destroyed it before Gorem could respawn again.

Ten minute after the game his doorbell rung. Outside stood Ross, Bob, Tim and a kid with black hair, blue eyes and a dark complexion.
“C’mon Jack it’s time to go” they said.
He got in the back of Bob’s green truck. The old yet powerful truck had a big flatbed in the back. They got in the car and began to drive. Bob drove the truck out to Farnsworth High, their rival school. They picked the lock and drove the truck into the vehicle housing area. There were van’s lining the walls of the big sheet metal room.
“Alright guys time to help Jack in two ways. One boost his confidence. And two eliminate our rival school from going to the tournament.” Bob said. “I brought each one of you guys a mask so they can’t tell who we are.” Bob opened the glove box of his truck and pulled out masks of Lockjaw, Thromnir, Blair, Orion, and Myra. He handed them out to them and said “Ok Tim and I will take out as many as we can on the left, Ross siphon a few behind us. Rice and Jack, you guys get the right side. Bob gave each of them a gas siphon and they began to siphon. Ten minutes later they hear the sound of a car approaching.
The Ghetto Comeback Kids get in the truck and drive out of the building. Jack notices another truck in the lot trying to chase them. The two trucks stop at a streetlight. The Ghetto Comeback Kids look over to the other truck to see a group of kids from Farnsworth looking back at them and two people sat in the truck bed with baseball bats and three sat inside. “Quick get the gas siphon” Bob said. The light turned green and the two trucks began to race. The Farnsworth students began hitting Bob’s truck

as Tim opened the truck’s gas tank. Ross pulled out a water gun and sprayed it into the kids’ eyes making them drop the bats while Tim siphoned the gas from the truck.
“Got it” Tim said as he closed the other trucks gas tank. The other truck began to sputter and choke and began to slip behind Bob’s truck. Jack looked at the truck then turned to face Tim, Ross, Rice, and Bob and began to laugh.

The next day Ross and Jack sat in Zoology and grinned at each other thinking about last night’s sabotage. Five minutes before the bell rang Kendra walked into the room. Ross looked at Jack and gave him a thumbs up.
“Hey Kendra, about earlier, let me finish what I started.” He said. “Would you go out with me to lunch sometime and would you come see the meet on Saturday?”
Kendra looked at him and grinned “Of course Jack just give me a moment.” She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote her phone number down. “Here you go, Cutie.”
Jack looked at Ross and held up the piece of paper. Ross looked at him and mouthed “no way.”
Jack grinned “Now all I have to do is win tomorrow.”

“Saturday time to rock” Jack said to himself as he warmed up. His first match flew past him in a few seconds. He pinned the other wrestler by throwing him to the ground on his back. His second match was longer but he still beat the kid by a wide spread of points. “hey, finish the matches faster save your energy” his coach would yell. He beat his next opponent with a few well placed moves.
Jack’s coach announced over the intercom in the crowded gym “And now ladies and gentlemen it’s time for the championship matches.”
Jack looked around the gym and into the stands and saw Ross, Bob, Rice, and Kendra sitting in the stands. His match was next, against the kid from Rafael High. His opponent was tall and wore a stone brown singlet. Tim put his hand on Jack and said “Dude, you got this we are all here to cheer you on and remember never give up.” Jack nodded his head and turned around to Kendra’s voice. “Good luck.” Jack felt her warm lips against his for a brief second before she walked back into the stands.

He stepped onto the starting line and shook his opponent’s hand. The whistle blew and Jack began to twist his opponent’s arms trying to open a space for a takedown. He twisted the arm and picked the kid up and slammed him to the mat. Jack worked with fury trying to set up his finishing move but his opponent fought each move off leaving both of them at a stalemate. The whistle blew again “Second period Rafael high’s choice of starting position.” The kid looked at the referee and signaled for the standing start.
The whistle blew again and Jack was taken by surprise as his opponent brought him down to the mat. His opponent struggled to finish his moves. Jack’s effort to escape and score a point seemed slim but he also knew his opponent couldn’t finish his moves. Jack began to stall until the whistle blew again. “Third period, what position do you want to start?” The referee asked.
Jack looked at the score 2-2; all he had to do was escape or take his opponent down. Jack looked at the referee and signaled for the bottom position which would give him the chance for the one point he need to escape and avoid the risk of losing. The minute was going by slow, he was still tied with his opponent, he had thirty seconds to escape. All hope seemed lost, and then from the stands he heard “Jack, Ghetto Comeback Kids.” And Jack smiled.
