I enjoy playing League. I have been playing since season 2 and have seen the community at its worst and best. I think RIOT has been doing alot to keep the competitive and the casual players entertained through the expanded game modes and holiday/event modes.
I have been playing ARAMs and Dominion almost exclusively since mid way through season 3. I just found it more relaxing not having super raging players pick apart every mistake. Yes its good to get constructive criticism, but if you have played any kind of ranked and normal games you know the kind of raging I am talking about.
That said I will play normal and ranked with friends that I trust and respect. It made me a bit leary to get the invite to this competition but I have played a few games with the Team Sushi brothers and I respect their play and criticism. My advice to anyone playing league, and to myself included is to not be a Walter! What does that mean? Read this dialogue from one of the best movies of all time, "The Big Lebowski"...
The Dude: Walter, ya know, it's Smokey, so his toe slipped over the line a little, big deal. It's just a game, man.
Walter Sobchak: Dude, this is a league game, this determines who enters the next round robin. Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
Smokey: Yeah, but I wasn't over. Gimme the marker Dude, I'm marking it 8.
Walter Sobchak: [pulls out a gun] Smokey, my friend, you are entering a world of pain.
The Dude: Walter...
Walter Sobchak: You mark that frame an 8, and you're entering a world of pain.
Smokey: I'm not...
Walter Sobchak: A world of pain.
Smokey: Dude, he's your partner...
Walter Sobchak: [shouting] Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one around here who gives a **** about the rules? Mark it zero!
The Dude: They're calling the cops, put the piece away.
Walter Sobchak: Mark it zero!
[points gun in Smokey's face]
The Dude: Walter...
Walter Sobchak: [shouting] You think I'm ****ing around here? Mark it zero!
Smokey: All right, it's ****ing zero. Are you happy, you crazy ****?
Walter Sobchak: ...It's a league game, Smokey.
