In peace there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility

One of the requirements for the tournaments is to maintain an active ranked LOL account. In this they mean you must play a minimum of 2 ranked solo/duo queue games a week. It makes sense that you should practice what you plan on playing, but there is a marked difference on playing with a group of people you that are your close teammates, and a bunch of anonymous players who only care about their personal ranking. The requirement is for 2 ranked solo/duo queue games, team ranked games do not count. So...

Things got a bit hectic with Christmas and New Years. Family obligations and busy schedules stopped team Alpha Threat from getting together in any serious way. We did have another competition date on the fourth of January. The team got together for our 7 PM start time and got our schedules and lanes worked out. The captain went to register for the event and it turns out the event was 7 PM Eastern Standard Time. Now as a native Californian, this was distressing news. We had missed the event entirely.

We laughed pretty good about it, and since we had blocked the time off we practiced some...

We had a good time at the December Tournament. In short, we got our *** handed to us by a very nice team called "Blue Steel Zoolander". They allowed us to remain on the field for at least 18 minutes, which was very gracious of them. Our team, Alpha Threat, is a very new team with over half not being in a ranked team before, we have no idea what our level is, and we have not been together long enough to play as coordinated a game as our opponents. We did not know what to expect but now we do. Although we lost badly, we learned, we gained experience and now have some understanding...

During last nights practice we starting talking about champions we hate to lane against. We talked about how to deal with them and how to handle times when we get behind. Here is what came out of our discussions, again this is the theory, we still need to test this out more:
1) Unless you are the carry, your build is based on how the game is going for you.
2) If you are ahead then buy some damage items, if you are behind then get some defense based on the kind of damage you are dying to (Magic/Physical)
3) Once you have 200 points in whatever defense you are building, don't get anymore,...

We had a good practice session tonight. The randoms were very understanding and let us practice our lanes, thank you whomever you are! After each game we did a little critique over what went well and what needed some work. One of the things we talked about was protecting towers. It came about because I got caught and died. My tower was about 30% health, the top laner was pushing the mid tower with a wave, and the jungler was clearing the wraiths (or whatever they heck they are now!) The jungler and the top laner were a little over half health. The question is, should the jungler do...
