"Hmmmm. Thornmail is honestly a rather situational item at best... and usually the melee DPS won't focus the tank unless they're crazy overfed, and they probably have enough lifesteal to get away with it anyway. Thornmail is better on, say, Rammus, who has a taunt.

1) Eclipse gives you a lot of resistances, as long as you make sure it's up at the right times
