Sounds like you don't think gaming is part of life. You on the wrong damn forums, boi.
Depends on what do you want from your life. I played games quite a lot in my teens, but I think I missed few things in life because of that. Now I have plenty of other hobbies and responbsibilities so I can't play that much.
Btw I have a flatmate, who is playing WoW. He is either working, sleeping or in WoW. And I don't think that's "part of his life". That is a case study of addiction. He won't go for a beer because of WoW, he won't talk about anything else (in those rare occasions I managed to speak to him) and I feel like that is wrong. Sometimes I don't see him in weeks and when I knock on his doors he just says he's raiding so I should come later. Games are OK, but this is just sick.
Don't forgett you are a human. You need to interact with others face to face as well, not only through games. What are your memories going to be, if you spend your whole life gaming? "Yes, I can't remember my parent's faces very well but hell - that boss we slained back in 2010... man that was something."
All Iam saying is, that games are not everything in your life. There are real people who need you as well. We are loosing the touch with each other. SO I guess a little bit of precaution is OK.
Maybe this law is complete BS, but when I see today's parrents, who rather buy their kid PC/console with loads of games just so they don't have to interact with them... it makes me worry a bit.
IMHO, controlling things like this have to come from your own admission. It's the part of life called "balacing different aspects". No one can teach you that or tell you how it should be done.
Applying idiotic laws like this just provokes people to break or bypass them - one way or another.
True. But how many people can say - OK, that♥9s enough gaming for today? I myself have a problem stop playing, if the game is good :P
Pretty much this
On the other hand - games are addictive. Maybe if we had some law like this in my country, I wouldn't be playing so much games nowadays :-P
It all has it's pros and cons and this law may sound harsh, but it may help kids to actually have some life.
