Also, if you're top and the enemy top is coming to roam mid to gank, you should definitely follow unless your minions are shoved to your tower.
Problem solved. Also, trendy rant is trendy. I've seen this rant posted like, 5 times every goddam week. Can't you kids find an original topic to complain about? Sheesh.
I will also usually ping 3 times in the direction I think they're going if I don't have time to type since it's faster. Still, yes people should be warding / looking at the map, but it can help out your team to call it so it's courtesy.
Just say MIA/SS, it'll save you some grief as well. It absolutely mitigates near-all responsibility if you call missing because, after all, you have given them warning.
Team communication is important. Saying that such communication is unimportant because you can just ward is just a very 'don't-blame-me' attitude you're taking. This is the wrong attitude to take because you can do more to alert your team-mates than do nothing at all, which in your original post, seems to be the attitude you've taken. If your team-mates are lacking in map awareness, you help them, not call them stupid and tell them you don't give a damn.
Seriously, just say MIA/SS. Your teammates getting ganked and killed is only detrimental to your own cause. You're only finding trouble for yourself in later game if you don't call missing and a gank on your team-mates goes off successfully.
EXP: Purple team's bot and jungle are going to counter gank blue team bot and jungle. Purple and blue mid comes down for the fight. While they are fighting purple team kills blue ad, and blue support, but purple support dies in the process, the blue ap is only alive. It would be a good trade but blue top comes down.
Purple: All dead.
Blue gets drag and bot turret.
Blue snowballs.
Blue pushes mid and gets turret.
Blue now has control of the jungles and timers.
And now purple has to work their butt off to get back advantage or just lose. ^^

It does, but in this case I think the phrase "or didn't ward appropriately" would be more accurate.
If the other guys do it, I am thankful. If they don't and I get smacked by their lane I have done sth wrong as that means I did not care for the minimap and / or did not ward appropriately ...
