SOO, after ~6 years I feel it's finally time for me to upgrade my computer a little.
My main goals are to make my computer more quiet, to upgrade the gaming capabilities and to possibly decrease...

The problem with your Laptop might be your HDD from what I hear. When an HDD is getting too old data gradually gets "corrupted" (making lots of things crash, including your OS). Running a disk check "
