"In my opinion, nobody should ever get the Mental Force mastery (it's the rank one bonus to AP from the offensive tree). You get so much more last-hitting power from Butcher and Brute Force. 4 AP, on the other hand, translates into 3-4 damage every few seconds at the cost of mana!
