"You'll usually find that sharpen does the trick better at like 30% opacity.
But you can't really say "Don't use it". Its awesome in improving an images quality :-)
and some signatures actually look nice when overly topaz'd. Only a few though.

"hmm topaz is nice but i rarely over-do it.
usually i have a small setting on Clean and put the layer on 50% opacity. Too much topaz is bad i realized that when i first started using it. I also need to cut down on it. its like a drug.
