Welcome everybody to my guide on Viktor mid lane guide !

Im also known as "sitwm" that are posting frequently about my opinions on Viktor in /r/viktormains so hit me up there too with a PM if you don't have any mobafire account here

This guide will teach you how to play Viktor from 1 to 100 (Hopefully!) and includes a lot of sections that will guide you. Do not hesitate to pm me or leave a comment to ask me questions regarding this champion as I feel very honored if you do so !

Scales Better than Most Mages
The AP Scaling on Hex Core rely on level and as the game goes on, Viktor can keep up with enemy's scalings. If Viktor is the one leading, he'll snowball harder than most mages due to his kits that punishes enemy mistakes badly and his unforgiving teamfight potential


Strong Utility & Damage in Teamfights
The AoE Stun from Gravity Field makes you able to control enemies' positioning while able to save your allies sometimes and Chaos Storm brings a lot of damage into teamfight and outdamages old Chaos Storm if you manage to hit more than 2 enemies with a single tick. Viktor is also one of the best teamfighter in the whole game


Strongest Waveclears in the Whole Game
Viktor have strongest wave clear into the game currently that is with his augmented Death Ray. It can clear the whole wave with just a single spell and possibly clear it at Level 9 without any AP runes ! Yes, he might need to Q cannon minion if there is and other champions can rival Viktor's waveclear like TF/Xerath/Orianna but need to use 2/more skills to do so


Versatile in Most Comps
Viktor is versatile like Elise in most comps regarding how he can almost replace any "Wombo-Comp-supposed-to-be" Mid Laners like Yasuo or Orianna because Viktor's is one of the only champions who have huge AoE burst damage since most mages only good for bursting single targets, or have AoE damage but is very weak compared to Viktor's burst




High Learning Curve
Viktor is quite easy to play (really) as long you have good grasp of using his Death Ray and simple mechanics/understanding of game. But it's not that easy to master him at all, Viktor require very good understanding of the game & harder to use his skills to max efficiency


Weak to Ganks
Especially most Viktor works nowadays is they will push 24/7 the lane and this might get some attentions from junglers or roaming support from enemy sides. Viktor is weak to ganks especially he have no instant form of CC that can help him, sure his Gravity Field have AoE stun but it takes time to ramp up so its not really that good whatsoever if enemy decides to dash/flash out of it


Require Good Understanding of the Game
Viktor is like the APC of the ADCs in the game. He relies heavily on positioning especially in teamfight and due to the fact of him having none dash/blinks/reposition mechanics like Lucian's E, so Viktor have rely from peel from allies or by himself


Limited Items Slots
Due to his Passive and needs of Boots, you're left with 4 Item Slots that make Viktor have quite a boring item sets. You might need some defensive Items like Abyssal or Zhonya that will already take up a slot. A Rylai is a must, a heavy AP item like Rabadon or CDR item like Morellos and then a end build with Void Staff. This makes every Viktor game end game items feels relatively same & somewhat not "versatile"(?) in terms of item path








  • This page, is mainly focused on fighting AD Assasins or Bruisers in the mid lane or if you're taking it to the next level and go top instead
  • Getting Greater Seal of Armor for armor able us to tank their harass and if timed properly Siphon Power can negate lot of damage in the laning phase



This is my opinion for mastery page in the current preseason with a standard 12/18/0 setup like most mages do in the current mid meta. It revolves around poking and also aggressive all-in but you might notices the one I use is different from others, its free for you to change up to personal preference but I'll state my reasoning on each mastery



Max Sorcery over Fury because Viktor is a mage and emphasis on casting spells; not using his AutoAttacks by a lot. The 2% Increase is something that is not that impactful but also nice to have. Do take Fury if you aren't familiar with Viktor's last hitting or practicing it, but the AutoAttack is useless once you're able to clear the whole wave with a single augmented Death Ray

Take Feast for Viktor only in matchups that you're not comfortable with and prefer to play safe because he lacks sustain in lane and this help Viktor to pull through until he upgrades his Death Ray. In this preseason, Fresh Blood is actually better in lane because of the effect with Siphon Power, its not that noticeable but it helps in early trades. Expose Weakness only for support Viktor though for a fun pick (Please don't support Viktor in Ranked)



Both of these masteries are not that impactful but both of them are okay. I usually take Natural Talent because it gives AD and AP over the mid game that will slightly boost your Death Ray damage. Natural Talent gives more AD/AP early, so its viable to take it to have some extra AD to backup your poor last hit and AP for early trade potential. Vampirism can provides extra sustain behind-the-scenes; and granted spell vamp can't be obtained any other ways besides *runes*, and lifesteals only from AD items; its a rare stat and taking it will help slightly in sustains (Quoted from Dopa's opinion, tweaked slightly)

All 3 of these masteries choices are actually good for Viktor, Double Edged Sword is more of a gamble masteries and you take extra damage for it (Do not take this in assassin matchup!), but it works best if you can position nicely in teamfight and do not take too much damage. Battle Trance is preferred usually if enemy team comp had a lot of bruisers and much fights/skirmishes lasts longer than usual so you get extra damage from the prolonged fights. Bounty Hunter is my go-to since you need to kill an enemy with bounty to get extra damage (As long they get 2 kills in a row), and it caps at 7.5% and you don't get punished by it like Double Edged Sword so its safer + better in my opinion






Wanderer can be taken if you're a person who love roam and maybe quicker to get back in lane with the passive. Savagery is good since it helps with your AutoAttack early on until you can waveclear comfortably with Death Ray

Runic Affinity is pretty decent if your jungler is constantly supplying you with blue buffs and can increase duration of Baron's buff too, but if you're not getting Baron nor Buffs from jungler, then its not that effective. Secret Stash should be taken most of the time because it provides extra health and mana sustain upon consumption while also making them increase duration in 10%. Assassin is decent for Viktor as it increase your damage during laning usually I take this to get extra kill potential in lanes where I have to REALLY take the lead like Zed/ Fizz



I mix up both of these points because early mana regen works well (And I'm a filthy guy who follows Dopa apparently). Anyways, Merciless helps in dealing extra damage when cleaning up or poking someone in lane (If the laner had less than 40% Health). Meditation is fine too, which provides mana regen in lane so you wouldn't be punished that hard for missing Death Rays in lane

Bandit shouldn't be taken for mid laners(Except Gangplank). And Greenfather's Gift is actually pretty good as a mastery, but since mid lane have less bushes so its harder to use it and often being a waste unless you're fighting in jungle. Ultimately, Dangerous Game is still the choice to go for



Precision is great for penetration that will increase your damage and its especially good during mid game. Intelligence can be proved to be good too since Viktor can easily reach 45% with proper runes setup and item builds, 45% build makes your Death Ray lower cooldown so you can push more often and have greater kiting in teamfights

Stormraider's Surge is great pickup against team with heavy slow and more to kiting, so since you're taking it you should drop off CDR builds and focus on AP/Dmg build so that it will proc more often. Thunderlord's Decree is always the best choice since a Q>AA>E in lane can deal a lot of damage and will increase your damage by a lot, not much to say here.




Flash
Flash is heavily reliant for Viktor because he does not have any defensive capabilities on his own and its useful for making plays and clutch escapes, take this 100% of the time



Ignite
Ignite is a pretty strong spell for Viktor to allow him to make level 2 cheesy first blood, having more kill pressure in lane and helps out in zoning. But the new Viktor heavily reliant on positioning in teamfight, and getting in range to Ignite in teamfight is crucial, you might have to consider getting it every time. Its more of an aggressive intake, and I generally prefer this if im ranking alone because I need to snowball the game/lead the game by myself



Ghost
Most taken summoner spell for Viktor as it is the only one Viktor can make full use of it, from 0 cast of Death Ray to utilizing Chaos Storm properly. It's just so amazing to use, especially with the Ghost buffs patches ago. Take this most of the time unless take other summoners based on matchups



Heal
Heals you for a nice amount and give a sweet burst of movement speed that allows you to reposition quicker in fights, or even save an ally during some moments. It gives burst of movement speed while Ghost gives a constant small boost of movement speed, so don't get them mixed up



Exhaust
One of my favourite spells to win most of the trades by giving a lot of options to use for offensive or defensive. Exhaust offers so much debuff(one of them being -40% damage)and really shuts down champions with less mobility or even assassins



Cleanse
This spell works so good vs heavy CC comps (ex. Works great versus Cassiopeia, Ahri, Lissandra) You're able to cleanse Ignite/ Exhaust also and making use of it really wins you trades, or manage to escape dangerous situations or ganks



Teleport
Great tool to maximize your global presence, securing objectives, pushing turrets and helping sidelanes with surprise counterganks. Taking Teleport can lead to defensive or offensive playstyle and will maximize your farm even if you're behind thanks to your amazing waveclear tool







Glorious Evolution:
This is a self-buff that gives Viktor an exclusive item at the beginning of a game. This item makes you scale hard into the game and give decent mana per level stats early because Viktor is mana-hungry mage. Upgrading this item makes you able to augment each of Viktor ablities. The new changes actually make rushing Perfect Hex Core viable, due to the AP and mana it gives that will boost your Siphon Power's shield





Siphon Power:

This skill is great for last hitting sometimes and it procs 2 stacks of Thunderlord's Decree . It makes your trade stronger and the first portion of the skill got buffed. Although the shield scales of your max mana, its hurts a ton in mid game if you rush a Lich Bane. Do not max this over Death Ray because you will lose the main factor of your lane control and maxing this makes you easy to be pushed in instead of pressuring the lane

Another tip to mastering Viktor is to learn how to animation cancel this skill. I have not much to say but I'll link few videos that will explain it :

Gravity Field:

Your one and only CC skills in your kit. Max them out last as the only changes it gives per level is just the movement speed reduction and the stun duration remained unchanged. This skill works nice in choke points and if you're able to pull of 3~5 man stuns, that would actually make a turnaround in a fight. Do not hesistate to use this in the beginning of the fight because its still very hard to make use of it and using it early in the teamfight can split their teams for a few seconds

Death Ray:

Max this first because its your main damaging spell. This is our main poke ability (If its a safe matchup; poke after having 2 points in it) from safe distance our main waveclear ability. Death Ray had no cast time and you can cast it while moving making it a very strong spell and thats why movement speed plays such a major role in Viktor's potential. The delay on augmented changes is pretty hard to land without Rylai's Crystal Scepter, so just push the lane as the augmented ray have huge buffs damage, if you want to poke with it; consider hitting the enemy champions + minions at the same time because the first Death Ray shock hits like a potato and if it doesn't push the wave at all; you're wasting the cooldown and your main waveclear/pushing tool. Your initial laser outdamages your augmented laser until you reach mid game, so do not try to predict and prioritize on hitting too much augmented laser early on




Chaos Storm:

Summons a singularity after dealing initial damage (They interrupt Channelings) and allow you to control it momentarily. Every 2 seconds it will tick (will come out a circle on the singularity to indicate it's about to proc) and deal a lot of damage and the initial damage got nerfed recently. This makes Viktor burst bad, but increase his teamfight potential by MASSIVE lot. The only downside is that, you have to constantly control singularity for maximum damage output while maintain good position in teamfight, which is the key of success and what differs from good and bad players





Sorcerer's Shoes has always been a great item for Mages throughout the seasons. It allows you to ignore 15 of enemies' MR and taking it alongside with Greater Mark of Magic Penetration makes it even more deadly against low-magic resistance enemies. It is possible for you to sell away this item at late-game if you have other magic penetrations items like Void Staff and Liandry's Torment


Ionian Boots of Lucidity have always been a great alternative choices to Mages and is great to have when you're slightly behind because its 200g cheaper than the costly Sorcerer's Shoes. If you're behind, the reduce of summoner spell cooldown will come in handy and reduce your flash by 30 seconds ! And allowing you to all-in, or escape when nasty situations comes. If you're planning to go CDR Build, I recommend you to get this after the first hex core you bought


Boots of Swiftness have been nerfed but its still great overall. They help you in roaming or even helping in positioning yourself much better in teamfights. While they are much inferior in stats or effectiveness than the boots stated above, it is a situational buy when your struggling in teamfights or even fighting against a lot of slows. I usually buy this boots most of the time when im taking Ghost for my second summoner spell to abuse the speed of this boots provides


You're not gonna be building it most of the time unless you're losing to heavy burst mages in the mid lane like Veigar, Syndra or even fighting Nautilus jungle or Leona support (That constantly locks you down). Consider getting this after The Hex Core MK-1 if you think you might get wrecked in laning phase or if their comps are filled with CC-heavy champions


The recent buff to it in recent patches makes this a viable starting item for Mages in the mid lane that have issues with sustains or even running out of mana too fast by using abiltiies. I generally won't get this potions but you should get it when fighting sustain-heavy champions like Cho'Gath


The new changes to Viktor in Patch 6.9 makes rushing Perfect Hex Core a must-rush for 2nd item or as first item due to the mana it provides that boosts your Siphon Power's shield portion, and the speed buff to Chaos Storm which is really impotant


A must buy item for Viktor now in ALL games, no matter winning or losing, nor snowballing or behind. Get it as your first item or second after Perfect Hex Core as the slow passive is very important in landing a good Death Ray and properly set up damages for Chaos Storm ticks. It also improves your kiting speed by a ton and consider really rushing it when fighting annoying frontlines that lack gap closers like Darius and Garen


One of the items that you need the most in every single game. Getting this after Perfect Hex Core and Rylai's Crystal Scepter will definitely boost your damage output because most brusiers / tankers will tend to stack MR by then


Viktor's second part of Siphon Power benefits a lot from Lich Bane, and its what helps his burst that is mostly underestimated when his Death Ray is on cooldown. Get this as 2nd/3rd item will HEAVILY INCREASE your burst potential, this is more leaned towards sustained damage and bursts


I don't buy this item unless I really need more kiting power even with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter bought, or desperately need the defensive stats. By defensive stats I meant the mana that will improve your shield scaling, and the armor too. This item will not greatly affect your burst or potential in teamfights, in fact you're even more impactful because able to stay inside teamfight long makes a lot of difference. I always find myself getting this item when there's a fed bruisers like Irelia and Riven going ham around. This combined with Zhonya's Hourglass are the only viable armor items you should be getting


This item should be your first rush against fighting assassins if your struggling with them. Try to get The Hex Core MK-1 and Seeker's Armguard as soon as possible after your first back as getting it earlier you can stack the passive and gain more AP and Armor to aid you in lane. The new changes makes it have a more flexible build path and gives cooldown reduction, pretty good item now, making it easier to rush but the low AP on Zhonya's Hourglass will still hurt your damage in mid game


A really needed item against heal-heavy champions like Swain. The mana restoration upon kill/assists aids a lot in laning phase is pretty sweet. But if you prefer safe laning phase, get a Lost Chapter instead, the mana restoration is underrated but its huge. The mana is still very nice for Siphon Power's shield scales, along with the 100 AP that will boost your damage. Don't really need this item most of the time unless as stated, against healers or poke-playstyle gameplay


The recent changes to Abyssal Scepter makes it leans towards the defensive side more now with the better build path and 10% Cooldown Reduction. Do not get this every game unless your having a bad time against bully mages like Azir, LeBlanc. I recommend getting this if enemy team had 2 or more magic damage dealer (Support excluded except Zyra / Brand / Vel'Koz)


Luden's Echo is a very strong item because of its huge AP amount and that high contribution damage with the passive and 10% Movement Speed boosts. The movement speed can help Viktor to position in teamfight better and due to its passive able to hit 4 peoples, you can contribute a lot in teamfight since you're gonna be spamming abilities so Luden's Echo passive will proc a few times in most teamfights. It also contributes to pushing wave easier or poking before a teamfight. It also procs Rylai's Crystal Scepter's slows from its passive. IMO, I get this when I need to position further from frontliners in teamfight and couldn't find chance to land any Siphon Power, and replace this with Lich Bane in the build


With the new build order that most Viktor are going for, this isn't an item you want to consider about anymore since you'll be rushing Void Staff for the MPen already. Not to say this is pretty bad item to rush for after your core items due to the fact that the build path is somewhat costly. You should buy this ONLY if enemy is stacking health and MR or you love semi-tank Viktor


This item gives a lot of raw damage but offers no utility but its still a great pick up because getting it will maximize your damage output in a single rotation and 35% increase AP is definitely good when you're building items with low AP but with a Rabadon's Deathcap will greatly increase its AP amount. It's a great item to have especially if you're snowballing the game hard, I do not recommend getting this when you're behind due to its high cost unless you're confident of killing everyone in a teamfight with a lot of peels


I tried this item alot and I find it funny how it actually works on Viktor and very good too I must say. With Rylai's Crystal Scepter, each Chaos Storm ticks every 2 seconds and only slows each ticks for 1 second, so using this after that 1 second to make sure enemy will be hit for the next tick, the damage active actually scales nice too and have low cooldowns. Its sustain has been nerfed but the gold cost didn't be affected






For this section, im going to discuss a few path that you can consider trying out (I don't like how the itemization section in cheat sheet works)



Option #1 : Standard Build
Path : Rylai's Crystal Scepter -> Perfect Hex Core -> Lich Bane

The most standard build you can think of, just go this path if you're doing equally, winning or losing; whatever; this is the build most Viktor will go through. Nothing to explain here



Option #2 : Safety is First Priority
Path : The Hex Core MK-1 -> Zhonya's Hourglass/ Abyssal Scepter -> Perfect Hex Core -> Rylai's Crystal Scepter

The safety path if the enemy have high kill pressure like Zed, Syndra or even Yasuo if he's out of hand, Zhonya's Hourglass gives CDR to help clear wave and the active can help you escape sometime, well on the other hand is Abyssal Scepter; which I RARELY build anymore (maybe until preseason changes!) because its been toned down and I don't see its usefulness; consider grabbing early Negatron Cloak. If you manage to get first hex core upgrade without dying, buy it first then buy these items. Oh ya, do complete Abyssal Scepter later on in the game as well.



Option #3 : Strong Push Power
Path : The Hex Core MK-1 -> Morellonomicon / Perfect Hex Core

This build have strong mana sustain as long you get early Lost Chapter; and do not upgrade to Morellonomicon else you lose the mana gain per level up passive (Unless you're confident killing your laner for the mana restore). When I go for pushing gameplan, I don't buy Morellonomicon unless they have strong healers/comp built around healing and sustaining; since I do manage my mana well in lane, so I rush Perfect Hex Core instead. Morellonomicon is good too if you want to play poke & push at the same time



Option #4 : Aggressive Lane
Path : The Hex Core MK-2 -> Lich Bane

Both of these gives high kill potential especially after Lich Bane's purchase; it gives strong dueling power without relying Death Ray, so you won't get punished that hard by missing Death Ray. Basically, Lich Bane + Q Upgrade to dodge/all in and duel, and E upgrade to push the lane. I only find this good against melee but against Yasuo this path works well since Yasuo can't Wind Wall your empowered AA from Siphon Power






Start Siphon Power at level 1 most of the time, to start "The Level-2 Cheese" if needed; or simply for early shield protection. With Siphon Power early, you can negate damages and able to cancel AA to proc early Thunderlord's Decree , so that's pretty neat

If the enemy jungler ganks, put a Gravity Field and open Flash or Ghost to escape if you think you really need to get out of there or they can burst you down. You can fight most ganks out of them and still come out on top thanks to the power of new Chaos Storm at first rank, however this is very risky and you need to micromanage a lot,so just run if you're not confident enough to play it out. Most of the time, a simple Gravity Field will do though. Well its a more of a reason for you to ward your lane. ALWAYS ward around and get Control Ward too

As a Viktor, its very important for you to push the lane most of the time and able to deny enemy cs under turrets and will delay out their powerspike core items eventually. Most enemies have to choose to whether spend all of their mana getting those last hits, tanking the wave and have their health reduced unless they don't want their golds. This will make enemies tend to focus on last hitting instead of wanting to have kill potential in lane. (A good example would be Talon)



The mid game part is where (most of the time) laning phase ends, and team will group to secure objectives, push the lanes and this part of the game is very important as making a few mistakes will cause your team to lose the GAME or even making comebacks. Viktor is one of the champions that works great in the mid game with his strong wave clear, sieging potential or even defending turrets

You can easily roam to bot lane as Viktor because you can easily roam thanks to your waveclear and lane control being exceptionally strong. You can freely roam after pushing a wave and miss none cs while your opponents have to struggle pushing the lane back, or just lose cs.

Its even better to roam if your bot have lane control, wards around, and clears wards around. You might want to have someone like Thresh, Nautilus, Leona support as they provide strong engage and Crowd controls making your follow up and controlling Chaos Storm easier

After sucessful gank for a laner, you can do few things. Push them to turret or go back to your midlane if its pushed. DO NOT ROAM WHEN YOUR LANE IS PUSHED TOWARDS YOU because a fail gank will lead to loss of gold and experience, and that is bad and this is especially important for mid lane because its the most important lane in term of map control as it is the shortest lane of the three. Ask a jungler to defend your turret if your away for roaming, just tell him that he get free farm *cough*

You can also push the side lanes to pressure the lanes. Example, when 4 of your teammates are sieging mid (your on the winning team) and the 5 enemies are just hugging the turret, its the perfect time to push the side lanes by clearing a single wave or two, just a Death Ray will be enough so that the minions will auto-push them.

If your on the losing team and they're sieging your lane, you can Death Ray to clear the wave before they can try to siege too, use Gravity Field to pull all minion together and clear them at once if you feel that the enemies will be diving very soon



Late Game is pretty much all about getting objectives and teamfights.
Naturally if you have baron buff you need to gather at pushed lane and let the empowered cannon minion hit the turret from afar while using Death Ray to push the incoming wave.


You can also use Death Ray to poke enemy team before teamfight, but make sure your Death Ray is up when the teamfight is about to start, as it has a long cooldown.


Well in teamfight, you have to position accordingly based on what's happening, who to prioritize and how much leads do you/your team have

Do not go infront of the fight because your squishy and have the same hp as an average semi tank junglers, but do not have them defensive stats to soak damage
Use Death Ray from afar and Gravity Field to stun their frontline. If their most of their frontliners got stunned with teammates' abilities, put Gravity Field down and chain the stun while using Chaos Storm to burst them down

Chaos Storm is hard to use due to the fact it ticks every 2 seconds(which is long) but if you control your Chaos Storm properly, and hit enemies with 3 out of 3 of the ticks; you deal a lot more damage compared to pre-changed Viktor, which is pre-6.9 patch
Do not hesitate to Flash inside if your frontlines engages on them, a simple Death Ray and Chaos Storm will deal extremely a lot of damage.

If possible, try to get a pick on their carry before a teamfight breaks out; let's say their ADC decides to do raptors while their team is regrouping at inhibitor turret, assuming their ADC had no Flash/escapes, its very easy to burst them with Death Ray + Siphon Power + Lich Bane's AA, burning Chaos Storm on them is fine since they are well, the ADC of their team

A single teamfight won in late game can mostly turnaround the game or make a comeback since you can push turrets and get Baron/Dragon with the big death timer in season 6.

So, what's this level 2 cheese that im referring about ?
As the name says so, its somewhat of a level 2 strategy that you can pull off only once per game and have great risk but high reward too
You can do this even at level 3, but in certain matchups


So here's the thing :

You start the early game phase with Siphon Power, once you reach lane, you approach them and AA > Siphon Power > AA, and that will proc Thunderlord's Decree

After that combo, the enemy should have 60% HP left and will be forced to use a potion, and keep hitting the minion while last hitting to make sure the lane is pushed

When the next minion wave came, approach the enemy and use the combo again, whether Thunderlord's Decree proc or not; it does not affects your next step that much. Once you reach level 2, approach the enemy and

Siphon Power > AA > Death Ray = Thunderlord's Decree (If you proc it before the 2nd wave came, its alright)

Then Ignite them, this will probably force their Flash/ Exhaust/ Barrier, but if they do not respect your damage early on; the strat should work out just fine. If they burnt a Flash to escape, do not worry as they'll be forced to Recall and you can push the lane and possibly deny 2 waves of minion (12 minions = 250 ~ 300g); then have a jungler gank early on while their Flash is on cooldown

I use this strategy a lot even in Low Plats - Low Diamond Elo and no one really expects the advantage it gives you, but this is definitely something you should do in lower elo (Bronze ~ Gold) as the players in low elo will be hesistated to use Flash. Try it out and tell me if it works or not :)


Factors that greatly contributes into this :

- Taking Ignite is a must, or Exhaust is possible too but Ignite gives A LOT MORE kill potential early on (Especially if you consider -40% Heal from their potions)
- Enemies with Long Cooldowns early on; champions like Twisted Fate, Morgana, Vladimir
- Enemies with Slow Powerspike early on; champions like Swain, Zilean
- Melee champions because they tend to play aggressive early on and easy to be baited/distracted like Yasuo


Factors that you will make this backfires :

- Early pressure junglers like Lee Sin, Shaco that might gank you middle of this
- Enemies with huge level 2 powerspike and levels up before you ;champions like Anivia, Cassiopeia
- Enemies taking Heal, Exhaust or Barrier
- Enemies taking Teleport can waste all your effort into denying their waves, if you kill them its worth; but if you don't, then its wasted
