Except that Spear Shot does insane damage only once, doesn't scale off of AS, and costs mana.

Proc'ing the missing health damage several times makes it potent for finishing off opponents. He can build plenty of AP late game, so it deals hefty damage more than once per second.
It let me win several fights I couldn't have when the enemy had caught me off-gaurd or was waiting on a second combo of spells to finish them off.

first thing, Pantheons spear shot isnt the only thing that crits with his passive, his AAs do as well, and like i said in another thread or this one, if you have enough AP his W passive will only need to hit once to kill people, unlike in your build where it will need to proc multiple times to execute someone

Ekko doesn't have the Spear Shot tool is my point. It can scale off of one statistic massively and be applied at range. Ekko only has his autos and a miniscule

AS scales the passive much better - especially when you already have plenty of AP already. The difference between a Nashor's Tooth and a Void Staff in a single burst is somewhere around 350-850 depending on their MR levels. That's an extremely reasonable area for Nashor's to work with, considering the 20% CDR and 2.25 seconds of stun time you have, your passive will be dealing somewhere around 16.8% missing health + 98 from Nashor's with every hit when it procs, and your attack speed will be anywhere from 1 to 1.288 depending on level.

but my point being that if someone is below 30% hp you only need to proc the passive once for it to kill them, its an execute passive not a "see how many times i can hit them till they die" passive, using E to hit them when theyre low enough can kill them a lot faster than your build

by the way with your build how do you plan on doing all that damage without getting blown up? its going to take too long to kill people if you do that

When it comes to squishies, there is no difference since they're mostly guaranteed to die from your initial burst anyways. The "loss" in AP is pretty small with only an initial value difference of 10 between Nashor's and VS, and neither of their passives will play an overly important role when they die so easily.

When fighting tankier opponents - especially health stackers - you're dealing so much more damage with the DPS potential. As a full burst mage, you combo, slap them once or twice, and if you failed to kill them, you have to retreat with your stolen movement speed because you have so little CDR and not even your missing health passive can save you before they come back to lock you down. If you have Nashor's instead, you can afford to keep hitting them and earn a larger amount of missing health damage.

Also: After reconsidering the calculations (tried to be lazy with the resistance calculations, and didn't consider Lich's base AD scaling), the difference in a single burst is approximately (high-balling) 400 - 600, with Nashor's contributing 2.47% more missing health (or almost the same) with 130-80 more per second. So you can cover the damage discrepancy easily, and still continue to do damage until the next combo is available.

true squishies are going to die no matter what

you act as though nashors is going to stop you from being locked down, and since you keep comparing nashors to void staff for....whatever reason youll end up doing more damage to tankier champions with void staff than nashors due to the magic penetration

you are looking at the numbers but not thinking about whats going to happen in the actual game, if you stay in to smack them with your nashors tooth youre going to get CC'd and die instead of using your passive to run away

The original thread was comparing Nashors to Lich Bane I think??
You don't compare something that gives Magic pen for an autoattack empowering item that's just pointless.

Basically MOBAFire.

I've used it before. You can actually stick around because your shield saves you in almost too many situations, and how much more often your ult is up really helps. Ekko can push a lane without having to use his [Q], and kills towers like he was AD. Only against MR stackers (≥125 MR) would VS be entirely more potent.

It's a matter of optimization. Should you go for pen to make your initial burst better, or should you take advantage of your survival tools and get DPS+CDR?
Obviously you would want both, but Ekko's full build doesn't allow for that. Hence the discussion about which fits better.
