I think the front page option is out of the question.
Can confirm.

Why? can't you just put them below recent discussion?
That's where they were, if the devs would've been happy with that solution they'd still be there today.
Adding them to the recent discussion could be a thing, but I'm still worried that might feel spammy if the feature becomes more popular. Open to other suggestions.
I'd also like to address fixing the "redirection-issue" when clicking on comments in the activity feed and maybe removing the ability for "ordinary" users to set blogs to featured. I've just noticed this (high quality) blog which is featured for no reason yet isn't displayed in the blog list at all.

Thanks to Emikadon for this sig!
It isn't actually featured, any blog you go to will show you that (it's just what that box shows by default). I don't think "ordinary" users can change the feature level, but I'll ask about that to be sure.
The reason it's not showing in the blog list is probably its length, I believe there is a minimum length requirement for blogs to show up there at all. Again, I'll check to make sure though.
Edit: also, the redirection issue you speak of should be fixed already.

The correct redirecting doesn't work for me all the time especially when it comes to posts on on the second page.
Apparently I'm actually not able to set guides to featured even though it worked once on Thalia's blog. Maybe it's just impossible to set guides to listed again after they've already gained the featured status (?). Besides, isn't the default box somewhat misleading?

I can't feature blogs, so you have to be scout or vet

Thanks to IPodPulse for this <3^
Weren't they removed because spam blogs often plagued the front page? I mean, you could say the same for threads to be fair. That space where the blogs used to be is so empty and horrid looking. My suggestion is to have tabs for new blogs, but then a separate one for newly featured, or top blogs.
But I'm hesitant to even suggest things cause everything something I think needs changed around here does get changed, it ends up looking worse.

You need to log in before commenting.
Secondly, make a box for it on the front page. That way if we didn't scroll through the recent discussion, we'd still be able to see the most recent blogs :^)
