How do you guys handle the youtube autoplay fuction? I personally only turn it on if I am 99% sure it won't constantly repeat songs or play anything that is not music I want to hear

I turn off almost anything automatic. Youtube and so many other things are just so **** at catering to my demands.
I use this addon to stop the auto-play, along with removing annotations (that ****ing **** keeps turning itself on otherwise, **** that ****) and setting a quality level.

can this only play the highest resolution available or could you set it to play videos at the highest resolution up to a certain point?

Both. Just try it yourself. It takes a few seconds to download and install and doesn't even require a restart of your browser.
