Even though the black cleaver change was a nerf to warwick, it was a buff to every other ranged carry. Before it was situational, now it's a much more common pick.

I hate when RIOT does that, they used to put changes on champions in patch notes, but the results were QQ threads on forums.
Now they do it indirectly, they started nerfing items, minions, monster, masteries, runes, everything except champions so fools like me get tricked and think: good, they didn't nerf my fav champion...

I don't think they're trying to nerf WW, but WW just benefitted from some items that a lot of champions benefitted from. They want the game to be balanced which is why they nerfed the CDR items (Spirit Visage) and they nerfed Banshee's Veil because it was the only MR item being used. Also, they want jungling to be less necessary. Finally, lvl 4 dragon was pretty cheap. It gave your team such an unfair advantage just because the other team doesn't have a WW.

As far as I know; they always do.. All these changes are documented in the patch-notes.

I have recently been attempting to update my Warwick guide, and I am now conflicted if Spirit Visage is still a good choice on Warwick or if the costs outweigh the benefits.
