What jungler do you ban? I usually ban lee sin.
I have lost every ranked game with rengar, and lost a few divisions. But now I've won the past 3 games and I think I'm improving. I've gotten to learn how to counterjungle/track enemy jungler, maxing my damage output and limiting my deaths from 20 to 1-5 per game. Keep in mind im bronze II, and have less than 100 games with rengar, so I'm as far from mastering rengar as possible.
I don't think the change from Transcendence to Ultimate Hat is worth it, as the damage you get from going over the Cooldown Cap is so much better then an extra 15% (5 seconds) off your ultimate. With banning, I usually ban champions that ruin my early game, such as khazix, lee sin, xin zhao. These champions will usualy prevent you from gaining an early lead if they are half decent. Keep the Rengar games up! I'll be updating this guide more soon, so stay tuned.
I've followed your exact build and strategy for around 8 games now and I still find it impossible to kill Kroggs (stone monster) in early game. I have 75% of my life left from fighting red buff and kroggs take me out just before i can kill the last few of them. I jump in, and use you tactic for killing kroggs. Maybe theres been a new patch that chnged something? I usually just skip kroggs until I've taken out all buffs on my jungle, then proceed to enemys Red buff, since they are most likely delayed by ganking g our team. BY not ganking the enemy team before lvl 6 nd focusing and rushing all my jungles buffs, I can reach enemy jungle redd buff by the time they are just starting to fight their own red buff. That way I can leap from a bush and take out the enemy teams jungler (Low on health from fighting red buff and ganking our team. So that's an easy kill and that leaves me at lvl 6. Now I proceed to gank the enemy team.
Is this a bad strategy? should I just stick with your guide? Also; how do you suggest I handle croggs in super-eaerly game?
I'm not 100% sure with Kruggs, I'd have to see you play to determine what's wrong. Make sure you are kiting the buffs, so you get an extra hit or two by the end of the buff. Running from them as you fight isn't a bad thing, it's the strategy. Your strategy is OK but is highly dependant on the composition of both teams. Try only doing that when you know you can sky rocket ahead. Most of the time the early game of each lane is the decider for most of the game. Hope this helps.
i also main rengar since i started playing league and i reached 200k points with him; i wanted to know why you complete the jungle item
let me explain; i usually upgrade machete to blue smite or red smite but i don't build the gem; after i upgraded my machete i start rushing youmuu that gives the same stats, but it also gives lethality and the active for nearly the same amount of gold
also after the lethality buff i think this is a good build path
however it's one of the best guide, you should update the combos but it's a really good job ;)
P.S.: i'm italian, sry if my english isn't perfect ":)
- You start with Talisman or Machete, meaning that you're 350 gold towards Warrior, leaving 2275 gold to complete the whole thing. If you buy the upgraded version, you are then 1000 gold into the item. leaving 1625 gold left or somewhere there abouts. Instead of then buying a whole new item costing 2900 gold, you spend the 1625 gold and get the same stats, faster. Also, when it comes to late game, if you went with your build you would have 1 item slot being taken up by a gemless jungle item, meaning you'd have to upgrade it or sell it and selling it is never good. If you were to upgrade it, you would then have 50% CDR and the effects just wouldn't be as worth it. Plus, the active of youmuu's doesn't really benefit Rengar as much as it used too, since his Ult Movement speed and Empowered ability movement speed already make him fast enough.
I hope this has answered your question.
