On top of that, Fervor of Battle fully stacks pretty much instantly with the multi-auto property on his Ruthless Predator, and you'll definitely be weaving autos between spells, quite a significant amount in laning phase. Renekton can win just about any matchup in top lane. You'd rather get Fervor of Battle to press your advantage and punish your lane opponent even harder, rather than relying on Courage of the Colossus , and risk not grinding them into the dirt. Where Courage of the Colossus would give you 30-60ish shield on Ruthless Predator for trading, once every 45 seconds or so, whereas Fervor of Battle will deal almost that much damage straight up from zero stacks, on one empowered Ruthless Predator, every time it's up, whenever you want, and leave you with full stacks if you decide to trade further (which you almost always will).
I suppose you could still take it if you're running tank build (not that you should aim to run tank build), but Courage of the Colossus would be better if your sole existence is to try and be your teams tank. Maybe for split-push tank, but why do that in the first place?
EDIT: and, in my case, not bothering to read the dates on comments
