That was exactly my thought too when they revealed how the ult works. My friends' rebuttal was. "well then they're lined up and you can punish that!"
So, what piercing line skillshots punish that? Bard Q, Yasuo Q, maybe Lux ult and maybe a few others that are just damage or are basic abilities with no real punishment potential.
It's gonna be a rough few weeks figuring out the tree again.

Other AoE initiations, meaning there'd be two tanks in the team (Malphite R, Seju R), although Rakhan ult would also have a field day.
But I think it's mostly pessimis, the ult seems pretty decent. I wonder how it interacts with towers or other walls though? Does it lose branches? Because it'll become a lot ****tier in sieging scenarios.

It's basically
I'm absolutely fine with people that can't play well mechanically. I mean, I miss like all my blitz hooks, it's fine. But I can't stand it when your teammates just make so many horrible decisions over and over again even though I tell them every single time it's plain suicide to jump in on everyone you see when you're 20 kills behind. EDIT: Next game, enemy team bans all my current top laners... QQ^2

Wow, they actually banned
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Haha, no.
Yasuo,
Fiora,
Camille. I want to play some mechanical champions atm.
Garen's still there for the occasional salty stomp though. Just played him mid.
EDIT: That said, the occasional salty stomp is rather occasional, I have like 45% win rate on him atm. Although my overall win rate is below 50% I believe so that's not a surprise. (working on getting things positive again...)

But now his ult is generic big CC the people time and the E is more focused on brush control now.
What do you think, Lugi?
Alright so it's 4 AM so this is gonna be super rambly but here goes.
Saplings now do % max HP damage, taken from the root. That's cool both for a laning top lane perspective and for a jungling perspective. Easier clear on the big camps, and the fact that they last up to 70 seconds means that this is probably the second skill to max after Q. Dunno if the numbers will be right on Q but we'll see. Building on that, because they last long as **** they're going to be great invade wards, since they also do, again, percent health damage and if they're in a bush they get super aggressive and do double the damage holy ****.
The ult change is super weird because it's making him less of a teamfighter, and more of a teamfight starter. Sort of like Nami and Tidal Wave, but sort of ****ty because there's 5 individual roots, and they get blocked by champions. But it's wide as **** so that's cool, but the root doesn't last super long. 2.4 seconds at maximum distance, but at least it's going to hit, almost no matter what. It's almost unavoidable. If you chuck that thing into a lane, you're gonna flash or get hit, end story. Passive change is alright, it's on a cooldown instead of per-spellcast basis, which sucks for people like Karthus and Cassi, but the new adaptive helm will help that.
Idk, he's in a super weird spot right now but I don't think he's going to go down super hard. He's got a lot of AoE damage now to keep up with the damage junglers so I think that's gonna pull him up a bit.
**** that new voice though. I liked super depressive, hang me from myself Maokai. It's what made me fall in love with him in the first place. Now he's some vengeful ****er and I just want "slap ****, **** you magic" Mao back.
