Nice job!
I love that you actually spent your time with sharing all your thoughts and experiences to create this guide and help other people. Especially your Ranked section was what intrigued me the most.
However as main Nami in S8 I saw a lot of Sorakas and most of the time I could easily shut them down. Of course you may argue that I'm only playing with people ranged from Bronze to Platinum but I don't really consider a Nami as easy when playing as Soraka. When playing wisely you can easily drain out Soraka by poking her and the enemy ADC and denying her to heal up or gain enough mana again. That's why I'd put Nami somewhere into the yellow section.
Anyway very well done. :)
But you're probably right that I'm simply waiting for the other Sorakas to make mistakes to hunt them down then. :d Who knows.
Very appreciated.
Why do you consider
Thank you in advance.
As for your question, I think ancient coin is superior because of how strongly reliable the gold generation is in almost every elo. It is very easy to get all the coins that spawn without being punished, and you can almost always get the quest done quicker than the eye of the watchers quest. In addition, ancient coin has health regen which allows you to use your W more frequently. However, in matchups where you intend to max Q and poke as much as possible, Spellthiefs is definitely quite viable and is capable of generating more gold than Ancient Coin (although you would have to be poking almost constantly to achieve this)
Hope this helped!
Yes I get it now, it all comes down to the play style, when aggressively poking then Spellthiefs otherwise Ancient Coin to play passive support with chance of more gold income :)
First; synergies with ADC
second; Detail the reason for your choice of objects individually ... and your opinion about Athenera's impure grail.
(Sorry for my English so bad)
Soraka works really great with ADCs that have lack any form of innate health sustain like
- you missed a [/columns] at the end of pros/cons and summoner's spells
- I think there is a formatting mistake when you explain wish (+there is still a piece of information about
- just a wrong database linking with
Everything else is ok, nice guide!
I can see you favor stacking AP to get more healing, I tried this and wow it was awesome! Still, I believe you should adding a section on options for some defensive utility items (i.e. a Locket with Talisman and Ruby Sightstone instead of Watchers), as the Locket is essentially another small wish in shield form for team fights.
Also, with the nerfs to Ardent, I feel like it's more of a situational item for Soraka (and most utility supports) now. It's great for attack speed based champions like Tristana and Kog, but not as good for Crit-based champions like MF or Jhin.
This way, you'd free up another situational spot for more AP. Talisman also gives Soraka more utility with the active speed boost which works well with Celerity. Use Talisman before Wish to get more AP aka more heal.
Anyways, great work!
At some point, I should expand this guide to include other playstyles. Right now, it focuses solely on my own playstyle as well as the items I build. I should discuss in detail why I don't buy locket, but in short it just isn't effective unless you have a large health pool. (i.e Ruby Sightstone and warmogs). By the numbers, buying an AP item like Athenes grants way more healing and is therefore suited to my playstyle.
Ardent was nerfed, but Soraka is still one of the best users of it. It gives stats she likes, from MS to AP to a unique passive she can keep up all the time. Even with champs that don't abuse it, it's still a solid choice because you can use it too! It's nice for stacking Athenes that much faster.
I don't like Talisman because I feel it is slot inefficient. I would rather have a rabadons or a zhonyas, these grant what I feel to be much more immediate benefits that are felt more strongly. You can live without the MS if you are confident in your positioning, and the extra MS from celerity is negligible. You get a lot more from your passive.
Thanks for the criticisms. Feel free to ask if you have more questions!
