Hey there, I got to say this is pretty much the best Malzahar guide, tried the Comet rune set up into Talon and I crushed it despite being a first timer. 10/10 would recommend

What should i ban in champ select ?

Sorry for the Very Late reply, I haven't been around for a long time! Once you've mastered the art of Malzahar, you can outplay any champion, so I usually suggest you ban a champion that you are not good against in general. But Malzahar du struggle against artillery mages such as Xerath or Ziggs, so they could be a possibility. Right now, there's Lee Sin mid that is meta and kinda destroying everything so I think he could also be a good choice to ban.

I'm out of inspiration right now I haven't done anything in 3 weeks pls send help

I've been using your guides for the past season and I was able to climb to Silver because of it. A question I had was do you think going 2ndary Resolve for demolish would be worth trying?

Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it and I'm glad I could help you, I myself climbed to silver this year too haha
For resolve as your secondary path for I'm sure it could help depend on your play style, but in terms of damage to objectives like towers, I usually play to get my opponent out while a canon minion wave is coming so I can pull a lot of damage from my voidling to the tower. I never really thought about it since I never really had a problem with towers before, but it could be worth trying. I'd say it is probably a viable option to go with and for a lot of lane pressure if you are confident enough with your damage and your mana early in the game. I also think that going for resolve as your secondary path could open up a little more plays since Malzahar have a very low mobility.

this build is kinda bad tbh malzahar dont use thunder at all and he dont have powerspike at early like others mage like syndra

Thanks for the comment, I assume you know the guide is intended to let the reader make his own build. I suggest many items and runes that can work either it's for competition or fun. I admit that electrocute isn't what it was before preseason 10 since they've patch the fact E+Q was enough for electrocute.
Feel free to explore the possibilities I offer in this guide and tell me about how you see the other builds of the guide.
I appreciate the comment though, it's not everyone that thinks to comment when they don't like something. I might take some look on electrocute with the preseason going on the PBE.

Hello i tested electrocute today wich is 22/12/2019 on live servers practice mode and found that E+Q alone doenst proc it and E+W is not consistent on the proc and i dont know how to test it right, sometimes it procs sometimes not, but R+ anything will always proc, thank you for your guide

Actually with the preseason, it doesn't seems tonbe as usefull as before. I'm thinking about going with darkharvest for the damage now, but electrocute still procs sometime on E Q, but not always. Anyway, I think it's more like a big they don't want to fix, but for now the full damage part of the guide is having a lot of trouble right now. I'd suggest going with Aery and precision for more damagae right now, but i'm working on a fix

Did they change something about Malzs' passive Void Shift? Usually, if Void Shift was up, I could pick up honeyfruits, without being slowed down due to the immunity to crowd control. However, since this preseason patch is live, I do get slowed down, but not losing my Void Shift Bubble?

Can anyone confirm this?

I'll check this soon, it's possible th=at they hided this change in the bugfix list on the patch note, with the honeyfruits appearing in the ocean rifts, they may thought that it were giving a to big adventage

If you main malz, then you'll know all too well that as soon as you get lost chapter, you can EASILY manage your mana from that point until the rest of the game. Choosing manaflow band over ultimate hat is a MASSIVE waste of power. Managing your mana is more important. Also malz has plenty of poke and damage without ignite. Take ghost to make up for his extremely low mobility, or tp to split push.

is that with this build you already have 45% CDR at 10 minutes in the game. On a casual Malzahar build i'll agreed on taking , but here let you take advantage before you get your lost chapter and allow you to play aggressively early game. Also, without , I already hit 50s cooldown rank 3 on the ultimate, which is already great. For Ghost/Ignite, it's just a personnal choice, the guide isn't finished and soon there will be a section on the summoner's spell where i'll explain all SS match up: Flash/Ignite, Ghost/Ignite, Flash/Ghost, Flash/Teleport and even Flash/Exhaust.
However, since they plan to nerf Malzahar next patch by increasing his CD on R, taking will be considered.

Locking down a single enemy is the only thing malz actually excels at, and it's the only thing that makes his teamfight passable. As far as cc goes, it is one of if not the single strongest single target ult in the game. His kit otherwise is pretty lackluster, having to rely on spreading his e on as many enemies as he can and resetting it hittnig mulitple people with his q do have a decent impact on teamfights. However catching out a carry or locking down an assassin trying to get to your backline is infinitely more useful, even post 45% cdr. You won't even run out of mana in the time it takes for you to get lost chapter, at which point you'll never run out of mana again. You'll be taking manaflow band for less than 1/4th of the entire game worth of usage. In a phase that malz isn't even very impactful. He would rather farm up the chapter and immediately begin hard shoving waves and pressuring turrets.

I've tested and I think Ultimate Hat is a better choice when you are experimented with malzahar. I've seen a lot of player new to malzahar having difficulties with their mana as much ealry game than late game. We can deny that his mana cost are damn high. Also, Malzahar's ult is pretty tricky to use because it also lock you down. Beginners to Malzahar will have hard time to use it well.
Anyway, I'll update the guide so it is specified that Manaflow band is a good pick when you aren't experimented with malzahar. MOBAfire's guide are usually made to help player to learn x)
