I think Fiora is a champion that has always been in the meta thanks to how good of a counterpick to some champions she is. Her Parry is a big nuisance to many champions like Riven who gets picked in high elo a LOT and her Vitals are a big problem for tanks like Sion. Now we can talk numbers, her winrate before the preseason in like 8.20 was about 47.8% If I remember correctly. She got buffed in 8.23(Not 100% sure if it was 8.23 or 8.22) and her winrate went to 50% but it has recently dropped below 50% due to the tiamat nerf probably. The winrate may seem low but the thing is the winrate takes in the average of all players and there's a huge skill disparity between fiora players. Newer fiora players have winrates as low as 40% while veterans with 200+ matches have winrates touching 60%. I believe if you invest time in Fiora she does not have to be a counterpick to be good. Her Average winrate may not be great but once you get the hang of her you WILL carry and there are very few champions that counter her.(Obviously Pantheon and Jayce Wreck everyone so let's not count them)

Your reply immediately gave me another question, which is "Fiora counters Riven"?
Now I am one of those low-elo 1% winrate fiora players so my opinion shouldn't matter that much in this case, but I cannot see how Riven gets countered by Fiora's parry. Riven has 4 ways of cc'ing you or so, being a knockup, a stun and a slow? I have personally never been able to 1v1 a riven at any level because of the parry being able to be used once every 20 seconds, and so I can only block either the knockup or stun the riven used. So my question basically is, how do you counter Riven if she has 2 abilities with hard cc, and you can only block 1 of them? (my guess is that you can Q out of 1 of them? not entirely sure how that'd work if they QQFlashQ3W though)

Well that's the same way you can beat Darius despite him being such an overpowered threat in the lane. I said in the guide that if you can parry Darius's Hook and stun him he's a sitting duck who wont win the trade. It's the same with Riven. Riven's 3rd Q is what you parry. Her 3rd Q knocks you up and it's VERY obvious so you dont even have to predict it. Her other hard CC is almost impossible to predict so dont blame yourself for not being able to parry it. Once you parry her 3rd Q Riven is not going anywhere for a whole second. Throughout the game your damage is higher than Riven's damage(Provided that you hit vitals on her and not just stand and hit her). Many Riven try to level 1 cheese me where they bring their Q(The 3-Part Ability) while I have my Q(Dash). Despite her having a stronger ability If I hit vitals on her Riven Easily loses to Fiora Lv1. Even at later stages of the game Riven is unable to outdamage Fiora but definitely outsmart Fiora by Baiting her Parry. Dont bother trying to Parry Riven's E, Just focus on parrying her 3rd Q and you always win trades against Her.

You should also learn how to use Conquerer. Riven usually brings Conquerer and so do you. In A Conq vs Conq matchup you want to be hitting the wave continuously to make sure that your conquerer is up. If a Riven jumps on you randomly while you were hitting the wave and she was not it means you have your Conq up and ready(20% true damage + some AD) while she did not have it ready and will have to wait 4 seconds in combat for it to activate. Tip: In a Conq vs Conq matchup Only take fights when your conquerer is up and the enemy's Conquerer is not up.

Thank you for taking the time to explain how it's not a lost lane, I've been stuck with it for a long time and just gave up trying to fight Riven ( and eventually play as fiora ) after I didn't notice any change in fights against rivens. I didn't know that Fiora could deal more damage than Riven especially at lvl 1, as I usually stand awkwardly trying to aa her after I use q or run away if I can't get the vital so it can reset. I'll try to use these tips and remember them for the next time I play Fiora. Again, thank you again for taking the time to explain it to me, and have a good night.

You're Welcome. Keep Playing Fiora when I started playing her I would feed in 7/10 of my games and I would rarely every win in lane. Now I almost never lose in lane.
