The main of my friend was Hecarium, now his main is Yi xD anyways, he told me about the runes he uses and some of the items, I think it is not quite the same as yours here, maybe I will show him this guide and see if it grows on him because it is so well-done.

Really enjoying how well put together this guide is and how much information is laid out in a way that's still easy to read. Jungling is (imo) the most difficult role to really master, and I really appreciate it when guides go the extra mile like this. Thank you!

Fast and Furious) Usually in the end when I look at the damage from the runes I do not really understand why all choose a rune conqeror, such as electro cute or haile of blades more proficient. Conqueror not always triggered the fight often its ends before 3 seconds)

You must be thinking of old Conqueror - the one that took 4 seconds to activate. It was reworked a while ago and the current version of Conqueror works way better on Hecarim. Especially since he can fully stack in way less than 3 seconds now. Keep in mind that Conqueror gives you more AD even when you don't trigger it, meaning it still helps you even when it isn't triggered, although the game does not calculate and display the bonus damage in the end-game stats.

Hey @Maintained, first of all – great guide! I already read it last year when I started to play Hecarim, and now roughly 150 games on him later - I became a Hecarim main.

I have a few questions I would like to ask you about the proposed item build though: You suggest to get Sterak’s Gage before getting Spirit Visage or Dead Mans Plate. I am not completely sure why? Hecarim has a lot of healing with his W + Conquerer. Through the healing, his “effective health” is much higher than his actual health. In my opinion, he benefits from the early Armor or Magic Resist far more than from additional health. He takes less damage, but heals for the same amount than before. Therefore he can stay longer in fights than with just more health (see also Health/Armor Ratio, where the optimal ratio of armor and health is calculated mathematically). What is your opinion on that? (PS: My Standard build path is: Trinity, Cinderhulk, Tabis/Mercurys, Armor/ MR Item, Sterak's Gage, Another Armor/MR item)

Also I have a second question: I am often playing against a fed and super beefy Garen lately. And as I am more often than not the frontline of my team, I fight toe to toe against the tanks. Though I feel like with my standard build, I have no impact against tanks at all (and my ADC is resistant to buy Armor Pen..). Would you recommend me to get Mortal Reminder against such healing/heavy armor tanks? I feel like it is not really fitting into Hecarims kit, but the grievous wounds and the armor penetration are nice.

Would really appreciate if I get an answer from you personally. Keep up the good work! :) Cheers!

I'm glad you liked my guide ^^

To answer your questions, while it is true that Dead Man's Plate or Spirit Visage can probably give more effective health than Sterak's Gage, keep in mind that you get Sterak's Gage for the attack damage you get from its passive along with the health. Due to that, Sterak's Gage in general is better for carrying and winning games. Sterak's Gage can also be better than an Armor or MR item against true damage and mixed damage, but really the damage and the beefiness it comes with is the biggest reason you get it. You also don't heal for the same amount, you end up healing more as more damage means more healing from Spirit of Dread and Conqueror, as long as you can stay alive.

For the second question; truth of the matter is, Hecarim is not the best champion to frontline with. You're way better off at dealing with the backline, and hoping the rest of your team can deal with their frontline. If you do have to frontline though, I would advise against buying Mortal Reminder, as your goal is to be tanky as possible. If you're in the frontline with it, the enemy team will just kill you faster and you still wouldn't be able to kill their frontline because you would be dead.

If they do have a problematic frontline that you can't deal with, the best thing you can do is take out their backline and then you and the rest of your team can deal with the frontline in an easier manner.

Hopefully my explanations make sense but if you need me to clarify something a bit more please let me know.

is Predator on Hecarim still relevant?

You can still find success with Predator, but Conqueror is objectively better.

Hey, appreciate the guide. I'm an average player at best, and this guide helped me get really good with Hecarim (I got 3 S grades in the last 10 games).

Basically, I was wondering which item can replace one of Dead Man's Plate and Spirit Visage to give you more AD. I usually go: Stalker's Blade: Warrior > Ninja Tabi/Mercury's > Trinity Force > Dead Man's Plate, Spirit Visage, Sterak's Gage (last 3 in varying order). When I get really fed which often happens I want to finish faster and need more AD, sometimes I take Death's Dance over Spirit Visage but that's about it. Would a Youmuu's be better? Or any other offensive item instead.

Again, great guide. Hope you answer.

Guardian Angel can be built over Dead Man's Plate for armor and AD and Death's Dance can be built over Spirit Visage for more healing and AD.
I do not recommend Youmuu's Ghostblade as that is a playstyle for assassin Hecarim, and mixing bruiser items with assassin items is generally not ideal.

I'm glad you liked the guide :)

I never left a comment here, I think I have to correct that :thonking:

Well, even if I don't personally play hecarim, I can recognize a good guide when I see one. It's particularly detailed and the amount of informations about both hecarim (and everything surrounding him) and the jungle role in general is astounding; the ganking and objectives chapters are particularly useful for those who aren't the best when it comes to jungling (like me :^) )
A great guide that I would recommend to anyone

(little thing: you should do a quick check in the runes chapter, the spacing is a bit wonky, sometimes double return, sometimes one and one time is missing (near celerity))

Fixed the spacing in the runes chapter. Thank you very much for your kind words :)

This is a great guide. There is a lot of depth to what you wrote. I can't imagine how long it took you to make this build. I feel like I'm already better hecarim player by just reading it. Thums up and continue the good work

That's unfortunate :( is there anything missing in the guide that you would like to see included?

No, im sorry if im confusing you. Im not saying that the guide isn't good. I saying that im really bad at hec, and it's kind of hard for me to get better. Especially if i don't play him to much.
