Is this the only item that has armour pen?
I don't really experiment much, normally I just use the items that the guides that I use say to get, or if I really just want to get used to the champion first I just use the items that Riot recommends.
edit: well I sort of lied there, the only other item I know that has armour pen is Last Whisper.
Black Cleaver and The Brutalizer all give flat armor pen
