I cannot disagree with that, for sure! I do have to say that Amumu AP is very strong, but he loses his potential to dominate late game without any proper tanking items.
Whenever I'm playing Amumu full AP, I'm or very fed early game, or having fun and playing normals. Going Amumu Tank allows the other team players to select other bruisers that originally intended. For example, going tanky Amumu, allows the option Kennen top and a Zyra mid because Amumu will absorb all the main damage in teamfights (adding a nice wombo-combo ofcourse :)).
Any suggestions I can take in account regarding my AP build? Share me your knowledge :)
*EDIT: And ofcourse, people who know how to play Amumu will still dominate. In the case he is AP, he might want to think twice about doing the engage (if there is a full-tank in the team, the choice would be to go second as Amumu).
