Xayah and Rakan were designed to work extremely well with each other, but I think in some cases a different support than Rakan can work better. Something like a Leona can be extremely dominant with her lockdown potential, but also a enchanter support like Janna or Lulu can be better if you decide to go for more of a scaling game.
I personally like the original release skin of hers (Cosmic Dusk), but the Star Guardian skin is also very nice.
Basically, Hail of Blades is stronger early but falls off hard and Lethal Tempo shines brighter in late game, WAY brighter.
Have you ever tried Resolve runes as secondary when playing with Rakan? Shield bash + Unflinching or Second wind must make some strong play, getting shield + MR + Armor + some more dmg for poke, could secure some win trade early as still be functional mid-late game :)
What do you say :) could it work instead of boots + cookies? :) Currently I cannot test it, so I could use another opinion :) Thanks
Haven't ever tried that, and I haven't played much Xayah lately so can't really comment on it anyways.
While that combo sounds like it can work, it would be probably mostly for premade play. You can't control your ability to get Shield Bash procs consistently unless you are constantly with your Rakan and he is actively looking to shield you. Also the Shield Bash scaling is partially wasted since Xayah doesn't build any bonus health so you'd be relying on the shield size scaling and base damage.
I'd personally still probably run free boots and cookies, but that playstyle can work in some cases sure.
First to give props on the guide! It was concise and informative, so I was able to absorb it fully (I think -_-) and run with it. This is huge for me, personally, as a lot of other guides tend to be so long that they end up confusing me rather then helping. Really seemed like you put energy into proofing and checking back on this, thanks!! Much appreciated!
I started playing Xayah about a month ago when I pulled her Star Guardian skin from a crate (woot!!!) and haven't been able to drop her since. She's a TON of fun to play, but I'm struggling a lot with getting poked by long range supps.. Seems like every single game has a Vel, Ori, Swain, Morg, Lux etc. that just decimates me... So this is probably just a general question rather then Xayah specific, what can I do to survive these matchups? Vs other ADCs I feel she has better poke nearly all the time because it's so natural to have minions between us all the time in lane, so her passive is a constant win for me-- but there's always always ALWAYS a long range supp in the bush tagging me whenever I autoattack... I'm assuming I am being too aggressive, but early game trying to farm under tower with her is an absolute nightmare. There, I'm still unable to get farm and am still getting poked by the supp.
In games where I do get early farms she feels like a monster snowball.. but this is massive rarity because of how bad I am lol.. Still love her to death, passive and E feel really natural for me.
Thank you sir for your time and consideration <3

Glad you enjoyed the guide!
If you are struggling against poke, an early Cull can help out, or potentially you could go for a Vampiric Scepter although that would delay your core items a bit so might not be the most optimal thing. Also optionally you could go Fleet Footwork for a safer lane phase, though that will reduce your DPS since you'll be lacking the burst of attack speed from Lethal Tempo. The obvious answer is "oh just dodge the abilities", and while that isn't always possible, the more you play against those champs, the more you can learn the poke patterns and potentially learn to dodge their abilities more consistently. Also having the proper support helps a lot in specific matchups, after all it's a duo lane. If you have something like Blitzcrank who just misses every hook while you get poked, what's he good for in the lane? In poke lanes something like Nami, Soraka or even Braum could be good choices, although that's up to your support to pick.
Hope this helps a bit, haven't played Xayah myself for a while so not sure how it feels down in bot lane right now due to other ADC's like Lucian, Senna and Caitlyn being on the rise but Xayah for sure is a ton of fun non-the-less!
I wanted to ask what you think of using Legend: Alacrity runes on Xayah instead of the Bloodline one? I know you mentioned in this guide that both are an option but I just wanna know if Alacrity would be considered a better option now with the her nerf to her w in 9.22.
Also do you think this nerf affects her too much or it's fine? Can I hear your thoughts on how she's doing in the meta rn? c:
Sorry if this question was asked before or if it's obvious or something, I'm still kinda new ^-^
Also thanks for making this guide!
Legend: Alacrity is fine if you really want the attack speed, however I feel the rune is itself quite overrated and I much more value the lifesteal from Legend: Bloodline. Sure the nerf cut down her attack speed when using W but imo I still rather run Legend: Bloodline in most cases since the sustain from it is just so good especially when heading to mid/late game.
The nerf affected her a bit but overall she is still really good (She is sitting at 49%-50% winrate so she is still more than fine to play.
And all good, I appreciate all comments/questions so I'm more than happy to answer :D
Glad you enjoyed the guide!
I hope you don't mind two smol advices? c:
One is like... can you put all the 'update with the patch' stuff in some kind of a spoiler?
And it also would be very nice if you added choices with other secondary runes, sorcery or domination - doesn't really matter.
Upvote for sure! :D
I definitely don't mind advises and feedback is always appreciated!
I've actually never thought of that option for some reason, but putting it behind a spoiler is a great idea. I removed the update log from few of my guides due to it looking cluttered but your idea is a great solution to it. I'll try to do it in the following days for sure :D
I'll do the secondary runes thing too when I update the update log.
Thanks for the ideas/advises and for the upvote!:D
Inspiration tree isn't often meant to offer anything for late game, but to offer you the ability to have a better lane phase. You can go for scaling runes etc, but in the end if you have an awful lane phase you may never even get to that point.
Cheap Shot and stuff like Ultimate Hunter are viable sure, but I personally prefer running Inspiration since it will just help you during lane phase and allow you to invest gold into other stuff than boots early.
