Anyone here ever read Machiavelli's "The Prince"? The basic theme: A leader has to be feared, but not hated.
You need to be aggressive enough so that your team respects you and listens to you, but not so rude that you set your team against you. It's alright to be nice, but be ambitious about it, I guess. One of the best ways to get your team to like you is to play a jungle champ - constantly ward everywhere, gank lanes for people, etc. Once they realize that you're the best player on the team, they tend to listen. ^_^
This holds true for anyone - gank aggressively, help your teammates out. Obviously this is harder in a side lane, but you shouldn't be trying to carry solo queue in a side lane anyway.

0-0 OH!!! I didn't know you meant both together ROFL!!! My fail...
Well, That is EXACTLY what happened to me Xaioli, I got caught by leavers and VERY bad players/trolls in the ELO finding phase. I am an UBER tryhard about Ranked Games when it comes to keeping ELO up, but I just couldn't get out of that horrible spot of 900. No one can try hard enough to balance the 0/14 Tryndamere XD

Oh ranked games, they're so fun. Just kidding. Tryhards everywhere. (I confess to being one) I got myself out of elo hell on my own, and duo queueing with a buddy is great for 1300+.
Even though my elo decays/I lose some games, I never fall below 1350 :].
Mainly On Topic:
To earn the right to play ranked games, Riot technically implemented it that requirement, but they failed (imo). Before you play games, you must be level 30. Also, to get your ELO, you must play 5~ games to get your elo. You will be placed in XXXX elo once you have placed those 5~ games depending on your Wins and Losses. That's a great way to sort people by skill level. However, a lot of good players decide to play ranked but get caught with a lot of bad players during the "ELO Finding" phase. That's something Riot has to fix, but tbh, I think what they've done is the best they can do.
They could always make your hidden normal ELO actually be a factor in "ELO finding". That's a pretty good place to start >.>

That would do wonders for a lot of people that end up in ELO levels they really don't belong in. The hidden normal ELO could be used as their base and then, as they win or lose during the period of ELO finding, the system could adjust according to how well you did compared to others of the same ELO. After about 5-8 games, a number of games in which the level of your teammates and your enemies are different each time enough times to get a good idea of how good you are, the system could then display the ELO that you would start at. Of course, people with high ELO in normal wouldn't necessarily have high ELO in ranked, seeing as the first couple of games has your ELO move a lot either way.
Tell me what you think of that XD

Hey, nothing is perfect. And it would stop those annoying Tryndamere players that rush Phantom... YES!!!!
Anyway, it could be a lot better than what we have now... in theory... XD

I'm consistently getting scores like this outside playing singed. Yet my elo gets consistently worse, because I can get some kind of super carry score and still lose. Why? Because I'm playing with people who don't understand what risks they are taking. They don't understand that they should counter things like Kat ult with a silence or a stun. They don't understand that they shouldn't be running off to steal a red buff when we are already down two, and fighting 5 at tower.
And don't tell me, "You should tell them in chat," because I DO. I will tell people in character select, "Hey, they just picked mundo, we need an ignite" or "Hey, they've got kat, we need someone who can get her out of ult" and if they don't pick it anyway, I have to. If I'm not in the middle of doing something important like defending our mid inhib tower, I will type out, "Tryn, reb buff is a bad idea, we can't defend with Singed+LeBlanc only. I'm constantly telling people when they ping baron, "that's risky as hell." and they will do it anyway, to get caught in the middle or have it stolen.
If you're trying to carry your team and take the leadership role you can't be giving out orders in suggestion form. Then no one will freaking respect you and you're more likely to be ignored and your "advice" shuffled aside. Honestly, I woulda said things more along the lines of "*ping turret* Tryn stop doing red buff and come help defend." or "NO DON'T DO BARON! WE'LL DEFINITELY LOSE IT!"
