@ Betolas9:
My favorite movie is Insidious. And I'll explain why, basically it has everything I like to see in a horror movie. Firstly there is a great connection between the characters, secondly the jump scares are good and thirdly the story is very well done, with a great ending and intro.

Here I'm just referring to the first movie in the saga but after seeing the first one, you'll definitely want to see the second just because of the way it ends! I would like to say a thousand things about the movie but I don't want to spoilers!!

So I just want to say that for those who like horror movies, right after "you have a full ad team against a rammus" this is the best movie ever!! Good luck to everyone who participates, I'll be reading your stories and happy Halloween!!

@ Aireszita
My favourite candy have to be the gummies! I've loved gummies ever since I was child. Whenever I went to my grandmother's house there was always one thing I knew she would have there: GUMMIES! In so many different shapes and colours, each with their own flavor, I loved it. Would always make me wonder what kind of gummy I'd find at her house.

Also, don't you think it's amazing how diverse and versatile this candy is? I mean, you can even use them in Trick-or-Treating since some of them come in tiny bags! Get some pumpkin, ghost, skeleton shaped gummies and you're all set for Halloween spookiness. At least if I was the one doing the Trick-or-Treating, I'd looove getting myself a little bag of those.

Gummies just have it all, to me they will always be the best candy! If I had to be more specific and pick my favourite kind of gummy... Well, that would be a hard choice. Probably those brick gummies, I like their consistency and flavor. Also, the long rainbowy ones! On the other hand, my least favourite gummy is an easy pick. SPICY GUMMIES. Who came up with that idea?! I can't stand those! I remember when my grandpa accidentally gave me one when I was a little kid. I think that to this day I'm still not touching spicy gummies because of that occurrence.

[/i]Happy Halloween everyone! Especially to all my fellow gummy lovers out there ;)[/i]

As many of us remember, trick-or-treating was the blast of childhood. Going door to door, getting tons of candy (Although there was always 1 house that handed out toothbrushes or "healthy" alternatives -.-).

My short story is a pro-tip my brother and I stumbled upon one night on Halloween. We lived in a decent area, and on the other side of town, there were these giant houses (mansion like). we hated going over as our customs were home-made, while most kids there had pristine top-notch outfits. However, that Halloween, we had our A-game on. It was getting late that night, and my brother and I decided to just visit the nice houses, at least one and then call it a night. Our parents didn't want to as we had a screechy van, so i'm sure it was also embarrassing, specially since everyone stared everywhere we went due to the loud "Screeeeeeech" on the breaks from the van lol.

That night, though late, we knocked on the first door with anticipation, their lights were still on so fair game right?! always turn off your lights or don't put decorations up if you are not handing out candy =). Anyways, we knocked, we heard footsteps shuffling to the door, and this really nice and tidy couple walked opened the door, we exchanged hello's and then they said "I'm sorry, we are out of Halloween candy =(", Of course we felt stupid as it was pretty late, BUT then they said "We can give you some cupcakes though! if that's okay with your parents?!" so, we said yes without looking at parents on the street. Excitedly we moved on to the next house. The next was also out of candy, but we got some cool masks, as they were having a Halloween party. The third home we went to had candy, but they were getting ready to call it a night, so they gave us the rest of their candy, plus a spooky decoration they had in their hallway that they didn't want to keep after Halloween. Get the picture?! Instead of going to small homes to get some candy (the typical candy am i right?) we since went to the mansions, and trick-or-treating became, a "fools treasure Hunt" lol, for 3 years, we found that going late to trick-or-treating, specially in the nice neighborhood has a much bigger payoff than candy XD We had masks, decorations, FOOD, stickers, giant bags of left-over candy.

Just to put into perspective, these homes were GIANT, and most of those folks are healthy, and very well off, so why would they keep so much candy. Therefore, as we were likely the last to show up, they would rather give stuff away and not keep it in their home XD

Yes, we even got so bold to ask if we could have some door decorations, like little ghosts or witches that i'm sure weren't expensive BUT it helped decorate our own home the next year. hahah

Even today, I like taking my niece and nephew to the "rich" neighborhoods, though they don't give out decorations, they do still give a TON of candy if you go later in the evening!

Pro-tip Story, thanks for taking time to read through my Halloween story. =) Happy Halloween all!

Sadly Halloween is not celebrated very enthusiastically here in Australia, the candy to house ratio was around 1 in 10, and the houses with decorations (indicating that they gave candy) is approximately 1 in 30 to 1 in 50, depending on the street. I haven’t gone trick or treating in a while, which I attribute to my gradually growing dislike of consuming more than a couple of sweets at a time which I have discovered to make me feel quite unwell, as well as the time to candy ratio (which is barely enough to fill a bucket) attributed to the lacklustre engagement of Halloween. However, I still try to stock up on candy and align the house with the Halloween decorations nearing October 31st, in hopes of spreading and bringing the same amount of joy to children, we’re seeing a house with decorations always meant that the door-knocking would net candy. I’m situated not on the main street, but in a cul-de-sac (a road with a dead-end for those of you unfamiliar with the term), tucked off the main road, and the very few people who do trick-or-treat would rarely enter this part of the street due to the inefficient house-to walking distance ratio. Earlier today on Halloween, I was waiting for trick or treaters - while waiting for a ring on the doorbell, to come out and greet the trick-or-treaters, but despite this, I waited until 7.30 but to not much avail - which I attribute most likely to post Covid-Precautions and decrease in demand for candy attributed to extended periods at home. The sunset is about 7.30 here, which is the latest that most people go trick or treating, and I'm about to call it a day before I hear a ring at the door - it’s a bit dark right now, the lamps are not on but this is around the latest people go out. Upon opening, I see three people, Two children and a parent - a boy around the age of 6, and an older sister around 10, with their mum. Her complexion is one I would describe between boredom and an urge to return home, the small boy seems excited and upon glancing at his bucket I see nearly empty a couple of kit-kats with scattered Starbucks in between, ecstatic to finally receive some candy to end the night. I had expected more people, of which only 2 or 3 people had visited, and bought a significant amount of candy for this Halloween, and seeing how not many people would be visiting after, along with not being able to finish even a quarter of the amount of candy by myself, I filled both of their buckets completely. The boy's expression is one of pure joy, rejoicing after a trick or treating of practically no candy, his mum looking relieved and this story is what I would describe summarises the meaning of Halloween, the bringing of happiness to people and the community. Even though I hadn’t gone trick-or-treating, nor did many people visit to collect some candy, the smile I had brought to the boy's face makes this Halloween one of the most memorable.

@ teemo ortiz
Sooo listen here guys, it's a really funny story that happened to me when I was about 15 years old. My friends and I decided that we gonna dress up as the musical group "The Black Eyed Peas" for the high school party. Unfortunately, one of our friends didn't have a clue who they were so he dressed up as a Pea with a black eye 😭😭😭🤣🤣 We were all laughing so hard that night and this little dumb accident of our friend gave us a night to remember until today!!!

@ Mango_Mango
My favourite candy would have to be marshmallows. They are a perfect consistency - very chewy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside, sweet, but not overwhelming (in my opinion) and when coupled with the versatility towards flavour that they bring, makes them one of the best candies. They’re extremely versatile and are a staple with hot chocolate, and best of all are able to be toasted upon a campfire (smoked marshmallow), drizzled with chocolate and clamped between two biscuits to make smores, which are the perfecting camping dessert, and a party for the tastebuds. Unfortunately, due to their sticky nature, they are unable to be given for trick-or-treating.

@ PPancake
Last year I said my favourite candy was Candy Corn (which is still one of my very favourites), but now with extensive lockdown, one of the few hobbies I have picked up with the excess time I now have on my hands is trying as many types of assorted chocolates and candies as I can. This is how I discovered Twix, which for those of you who are unfamiliar, is a chocolate bar made by the Mars Company that produces Mars, Snickers and Milky Way. It’s not as widely distributed as the other bar’s the company makes, and not very common around here, but upon stumbling upon a chocolate multipack that my explorations netted, Twix has definitely stood out the most compared to the 30 or so other candies I have tried in lockdown. There is a perfect combination of milk chocolate, smooth oh-run-in-your-mouth caramel that strikes the perfect chord between chocolate and cameral, which is emphasised by the three distinct layers of the chocolate bar. The scattered delicate crumbs of shortbread cookies are nothing short of amazing (pun intended), which do really well to differentiate it from all the other candies. Eating it with a warm glass of milk melts the chocolates, swirling it with the caramel . . . and we are brought to what I like to call candy heaven.

Writing this has made me hungry and might help myself to another twix. My hand grasps a bar from the nearly empty 36 pack box . . .

@ Craakin
My best Halloween story was from when I was younger(basically 7 years ago), where I was in my Minecraft phase and all I wanted to do for Halloween was be a big scary enderman because that's what people thought was cool at the time, so I ended up helping my mom make a mask from a relatively big cardboard box. We ended up coloring it with paint a pencil crayons, and spent a lot of time making it look as cool as possible, we also ended up making a backup Minecraft zombie one just in case I lost interest in the ender man one. So around comes Halloween and it is POURING rain, but people were still going out, the only thing was, I wanted to be an enderman, and I thought that endermen would die if they touched water, so I ended up having to go as a very sad zombie.(it all ended up fine though because I got a lot of candy because I was crying)

@ MichaekElderEye
I remember about 5 years ago when Halloween rolled around I considered myself too old to trick or treat at the time, but my mom still wanted to hand out candy and needed me to be out there so people knew we were participating. So me and my dad came up with a brilliant idea.

We went to one of those seasonal Halloween stores and bought some decorations along with a skull mask and scythe (You can see where this is going)

So I dressed up in a robe and mask, and wore a skinsuit underneath so no one could see any flesh bits. Then I simply propped myself against a bench and put the bowl of candy next to me with a "Take one" sign next to it before anyone went outside. Then I simply laid there, I would remain completely still unless I heard a kid taking more candy then they were allowed, in which case I would immediately turn to face them to scare the **** out of them. Best part were the kids that followed the rules, in which case I freaked out the poor parents by silently watching the kid as they walked away. Best Halloween ever, especially the part when a teen thought I was a decoration and tried stealing me. Emphasis on "tried", poor guy probably doesn't trust any door front decorations anymore lol.

@ Hazardist
I live in Latin America and Halloween isn't as celebrated here, except for some schools having their kids dress up in costumes and organizing parades through boulevards on the Friday afternoon of the week before it, and that became one of my fondest memories I keep from elementary school days as that's no longer done due to the situation in the country. Dressing up as spooky things and throwing caramels at people (or keeping them for yourself lol 😋) with your friends was a fun thing to do, and I'm sure it would be even now as an adult... though maybe not so well seen 😂. As for my favorite type of candy, this might be an unpopular choice but I L-O-V-E sour gummies, especially those shaped like worms. Now that I think of it, what is more on-brand for Halloween than sweets shaped like creepy animals? If trick or treating was a thing here, it's probably the only one I would be giving out to children.

@ Tauricus2017
So my favorite Halloween movie is "The Witch" from 2015. Unlike most other Halloween movies, The Witch isn't another jumpscare movie that constantly attempts to make you scream. The Witch instead hits you with its dark, depressive and terrifying atmosphere. It very realistically captures the environment of the UK in 17. century and this sense of realism makes the movie even scarier. The fear of unknown as well as a very weird feeling of discomfort is getting worse with every second passing by and it almost makes you want to stop watching, but the tension and dramatic music always drags you back. The entire movie is recorded in very unsaturated and dull colors which may sound boring but it actually makes the movie feel pious and melancholic. After watching the entire movie you won't feel scared for your life. Instead, you will feel a very unsettling vibe of very deep discomfort that lasts for quite a while. I recommend The Witch to anyone who doesn't mind slower movies and who is ready to experience the dark mystical energy this movie is so filled with...

@ Banana Pirate
I'm going to tell you three reasons why my favorite scary movie is The Thing (1982).

First, most horror movies have main characters who aren't so bright and are just dull; but not this movie. The characters actually think through things and don't just randomly split up like most typical horror movies. Another great thing about the characters is that they actually get scared!

Second, there is no cgi in this movie at all! So everything looks real because it is. The monster is done so well it should have gotten an award.

Lastly, this is a horror movie that most people can watch. I showed this movie to my mother (who's in her 40s and doesn't like horror films at all) and she even liked it and said it was well done.
If you're looking for a scary, suspenseful, and well done movie you can watch with many people, I highly recommend The Thing!

@ sashadidntwalk
The Ritual has to be the best horror movie I've seen, it came out in 2017 but I only got the chance to watch it recently. If you are scared of forests, mystic stuff and violence against people - it is PERFECT. It always has you at the edge of your seat trying to figure everything out and has amazing scenery + soundtrack. The story itself is interesting and the ending is not disappointing! Add this to your Halloween movie list for sure ;)

Hey @ boumehed!

We carefully check every entry and we realized your illustration was taken from the internet and not made by you. Also, it didn't include your personal signature which the rules required. 😊

Hey @ boumehed!

The illustration you used to participate in the Halloween event was originally created by Donnay Style (source).

It's clear you've made some changes to the original - but it's still not created by you entirely, plus you haven't included your signature which the rules clearly required. Please carefully read all the requirements next time and be original. 😊
