You pretty much will want to go Mythic, Seraph's, Zhonya's, and Void every game, as these items are too valuable for Ryze. Only real item you can swap is Deathcap for either Morellos or Banshee's. But if I had to choose between either Deathcap or Cosmic, I would go for Deathcap. I understand Cosmic Drive seems good on paper, but Deathcap is just a better damage item with 120 base and 40% additional AP. The extra MS and CDR on Cosmic is not a must need. You are already fast enough and have enough CDR without Cosmic

Just theory-crafting here but couldn't Abyssal be a better pick than FoN for the tanky setup?
With the seraphs changes and RoA re-implementation, abyssal gives mana now which will scale with your passive, along with abyssal reducing enemy MR with it's curse passive.
I understand the MS from FoN is pretty much invaluable, but do you think abyssal mask would be a viable pick for tank Ryze?

I don't play tank ryze at all. Maybe once in a blue moon. But yes Abyssal mask is also a very viable item as well.

Why do u go conqs vs all ad team? Is it because u will buy frozen heart and thus be tankier thus don't need phase rush as much?

Yup. And against all AD.. Most of the time there will be a lot of bruisers and so the Conqueror will just help you sustain and fight longer.

Why start with E instead of W? also isn't sorcerer's boots good if you need the extra magic pen instead of switching Rabadon? thanks in advance for the guide!

Only time you should start W is when your team are invading or getting invaded so you can slow the enemies down. Or if you are against a melee champion so that you can get some juicy trades in. Since you are one of the shortest ranged mage, starting W against other ranged mage will be pretty bad. I usually start E so that my level 2 can be a lot more flexible. I always go Lucidity Boots because of how valuable CDR is on Ryze. Only time I consider Sorcs Boots is if the enemy has a lot of MR, but even then I'd still prefer dropping that 120AP for a Shadowflame so that you can spam more of your Spell Flux.
