I think I've identified the issue. Is your account unranked right now by any chance? Rank badges are only granted when the system checks your account's current rank at that specific time. In order to get the Challenger badge right now, then your current rank must be Challenger.

oh yeah sorry I had tried to link my account to another and then linked it back to mine and did the verification process
Also I meant my badges for the last split, currently I am still unranked as I haven't played any ranked this split but the badges for last split only show up to masters which is what I wanted updated I suppose as I ended Challenger.

The system will only grant you badges for the rank you currently have, and the ranks you go through since you've verified your summoner profile. You won't be granted badges for ranks earned before going through the verification process.
If you wish to receive badges for previous ranks, you can send me a private message and we can look into it.
