Christmas with the Kranks is one of the movies I almost regularly watch during Christmas period. Its old but gold to me. The story revolves around middle aged couple who initially wanted to kind of "skip" Christmas and go on a cruise instead which wasn't so well received by their neighbors so thus the conflict. The situation then takes a different turn when their daughter announces a visit. I wont say anything else to avoid spoilers. There are also rumors that second part is coming out next year, I sincerely hope Its true, I'd like to see how it turns out with modern techonolgy and standards.

My mother works at children's home so she often spends Christmas there. Last year she caught a cold and couldn't get any tume off work cause they were already short staffed. They were supposed to put up Christmas decorations and since she was pretty weak I asked if I could come and help with preparations which she and her colleagues happily accepted. There were pretty small children, I think the oldest one was 12 so they were pretty shy at first but I tried to be as friendly as possible and slowly gained their trust.
We decorated Christmas tree and made paper angels and snowflake decorations for windows and walls. I felt very comfortable and decided to stay for the whole shift since I had nothing better to do at home anyway. After lunch we went outside where we built a few snowmen and had some fun at the playground. Later on, mom tasked them to draw how they would like to celebrate Christmas and I was shocked at how many children included me in their drawing. Their innocence is so beautiful, crazy how they get attached after such a short time.
Anyway, I knew what had to be done and of course, payed them a visit at Christmas, also brought them candies and chocolate, they were super excited, seing all the smiles on their faces when I entered the room was priceless. Definitely an experience I will remember.
I considered dressing as santa this year but the grand reveal might ruin their santa fantasy so I decided no to.

As far back as I can remember, maybe even farther back than the foggy memories of my first Christmas, my family has been baking the best chocolate chip walnut cookies you'll ever have.
The recipe for these cookies has always been known as "[Our surname] Famous Christmas Cookies". Each year, the batch of cookies would get bigger and bigger as more friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers hoped to receive a bag of them for Christmas. The collage I've included contains assorted photos of the cookies from 2004 (middle photo) to 2020.
Many things changed over the years--the kitchen was remodeled, we started using a rubbermaid tote to mix the cookie dough, we experimented with the ratios and baking times...
Many bigger things changed in our lives over the years, too--my siblings and I graduated college, my older brother was the first to leave home, my father passed away in 2014...
Despite the many ups and downs of life, my family has continued to bake our famous Christmas cookies every year without fail. I think that's part of what makes Christmas so special--traditions.
Change can mean that not every Christmas will look the same. Some traditions fade, but others can be born at any time. It's really up to each of us. For my family, our Christmas cookies have been a constant. After all, what heals the heart and soul more than a warm chocolate chip cookie?

Even though this story isn’t directly connected to Christmas celebrations, it happened during the Christmas days, so I thought I’d share it.
Two days before Christmas, my dad, my younger brother, and I went for a walk near a river. The road we followed ran parallel to the river, and between us and the water there were wide fields covered in snow. At one point, my brother and I decided to build a snowman on one of those fields, and we did.
We used nearby branches for his arms and an old pot we found as his hat. A few rocks became his eyes and buttons. When we finished, we had a bit of a snowball fight and then went back home.
A few days later, we went for another walk and found our snowman still standing, barely damaged at all. The funny thing was that birds were on the other fields, but there wasn’t a single one on the snowman’s field. From that day on, we decided to visit him every day until mid January. Each time, we fixed him a little and brought small things from home to make him even better.
Eventually, sometime in January, the sun became stronger and our snowman melted away. Still, those couple of weeks spent visiting our snowy friend were really fun, and that’s what made them special.
Happy Christmas and holidays everyone!
There is a picture of my Christmas tree, it even has a little train circling around it! :)

Woke up today and found my gift under my Christmas tree, quite literaly under it
I was wondering what could it be? Why would they they need such large bag?(not that the tree is all that big tho😂)
And Oh. My. God I was literaly screaming as soon as I took a peak. I am a big fan of witcher and also a D&D guy so they got me a witcher board game and expansion, dayum they hit the nail on the head. Wouldn't have picked it better myself😭
Also, since my gaming corner is rather dark, I attempted to take a picture with flashlight on and it turned out rather artistic I guess

Since It's Christmas I decided to add a bit of joy to my drawing so I colored it this time. Haven't colored a drawing since elementary school so it sure brough back some memories😁.

One traditional Vietnamese sweet that is often enjoyed around Christmas and the end of year holidays is keo dua (coconut candy). It is especially common in the south of Vietnam and is usually brought out when family or guests come over. Even though it is not a Christmas only food, I always associate it with the festive season because it tends to appear at the same time as gatherings, conversations, and long afternoons spent together at home.
It is made from coconut milk, sugar, and malt, cooked slowly until it becomes chewy and slightly sticky. Some versions include peanuts or other flavours, but the classic coconut one is still my favourite. It is simple, sweet, and comforting, especially when eaten with a hot cup of tea, and it feels very fitting for a holiday that is all about sharing food and time together.
What I really like about keo dua is how it reflects the atmosphere of the holidays rather than the spectacle. It is not flashy or elaborate, but it brings people together in a quiet, familiar way. Sitting around, unwrapping the small pieces, chatting, and sipping tea feels just as festive as any big celebration. That sense of warmth and togetherness is why this candy has become part of my personal Christmas tradition, even if it comes from a different cultural context.

This is my Christmas tree this year. It’s small and simple compared to a lot of people’s, but we don’t have much space in the house, and it still does a good job of bringing in the Christmas spirit.
I also tried making cheese-filled Christmas bao buns for the first time (we usually just buy them from the store). I used a basic steamed bao dough, added different food colourings, and filled them with a mix of melty cheeses, then had some fun shaping them into festive designs (Snowman and raindeer pictured). These were the best ones out of all the batches I made.
They were warm, fluffy, and very cheesy — perfect comfort food. It’s not a traditional Christmas dish where I’m from, but experimenting in the kitchen and sharing something homemade felt very fitting for Christmas this year.
if anyone wants the receipt it can be found here: https://www.wyldflour.com/fluffy-cheese-stuffed-bao-aka-softest-grilled-cheese-in-the-world/ (Note: If you want the unique colours/designed you need to add food colouring/and shape the dough before cooking).
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
