You can delay buying t1 boots until up to 2nd item since your W gives you up to 30 additional movespeed while mounted, effectively making the purchase of t1 boots over item components a bad decision in the early game.

The higher ELO you go, the more you will see Janna players, so as you climb (if playing ranked) you will want to swap from banning Poppy to banning Janna. A good Janna will know to save her nado for when you try to engage--even with a bad ADC, Janna will carry any game and make you useless. Start banning Janna around Platinum (since I'm starting to see them now and I'm almost Plat III).
