How about minion upgrades etc :P

Leftover money? Put it towards your base! Upgrade minion health/dmg/defense or tower sexyness (new skins for towers)

Exactly, they'd be unwilling to take down such a sexy tower, so you could just turtle. XD

Upgraded minions may be a good idea. It would make pushing much easier though, and would make backdoor champs much stronger.
