About your reaction: Getting lots of health on Shen makes him a tank. Add an Atma's to that and, voilá, an offtank. Shen's base AS is high enough.
You said that with high AS the effect of Vorpal Blade heal you more. But I though that Vorpal Blade just heal you over time, is kinda a little potion.. didnt it? if im wrong tell me. But i think that just 1 effect of one vorpal blade stack, so you cant be healed more and more wich each hit... with each hit you restore the Vorpal heal, but the heal is over a few secondes, and shen allready have enough AS to have a permanent heal by vorpal. Is like teemo mushies: no matter if you place 5 mushies on the same place, because who step on it will be hurt by only the last mushie he hit.
And I sont say that the build is useless, but the skills are.
(If I sound like Tarzan is coz english isnt my language sry)
Well... the skill description says it heals over time, you're right. But I made the experience it stacks. with higher as I always heal myself faster.
Hey and thanks for your comment :)
I can understand that Shen is not the best of all AD/AS champs but I think the heal by Vorpal Blade is pretty good for an AS champ. Furthermore the taunt by Shadow Dash will make it easy to get into fight and force them to fight. As I said, AD/AS Shen is pretty useless against fed champs cause your taunt would secure your death. But IMO the combination of Vorpal Blades heal with high AS + Taunt is just insane.
Well about Will of the Ancients...
The Vorpal Blade is the only skill that works on Spell Vamp. The Ki-Strike and the aditional damage by Lichbane works on it too. And IMO the damage dealt by these skills is high enough to get Spell Vamp.
About your arguement about the 1n3 fight: As AP Shen you have are much more squishy as Tank Shen, thats right. But I did the experience that Shadow Dash + the very high MS allow you to get away if the enemies don't have full cc-team. But in that case you wouldn't be able to save some1 with your ultimate anyway.
Well... somehow I can understand your arguement but if you don't try to play him as Tank and play more carefully like with other AD champs he is very good!

Bad guide.
Could you please explain to me why you dislike it?^^
That would help me to improve my guide.
Thanks ;)
This is a guide to another fun way of playing Shen, so +1 for that. The items you recommend are fine as well.
However, I should stress that even though shen can go both AD and AP, tank Shen is the most viable role because of his skills. I feel tank Shen does more than enough damage because of his passive. If there's anybody stupid enough to auto-attack Shen, Ki Strike's cd is reduced by 2, so that's a lot of extra damage.
I like the offtank build though, but I think the 'tank' part isn't well placed here.
Well as I told to Zarq29, I think the Vorpal Blade and Shadow Dash is a good combination.
I made the experience that Tank Shen doesn't deal so much damage (well I play ranked all the time and there is nearly no one so stupid to attack Shen).
For sure you will have to play more careful with AD Shen and even with Offtank Shen but with Shadow Dash it's easy to pick only one out.
I called the second Guide "Offtank" because it's not full AD anymore. For sure most Offtanks might have more magic resistance (which is the greatest problem for my Offtank guide) but I will also make a item section with alternatives. IMO there aren't many AD items you can swap to Tank items at the Offtank guide so I first made this one, that still deals a huge amount of damage. But I'll make an section with other opportunities.
It would be better if you got more health+armor/mres items after mallet and atma's like sunfire or banshee's. You could also just get a warmogs and then a thornmail+FoN.
Well... I made an Offtank Shen guide here and if I would get those items it wouldn't be an offtank anymore. There it would just be a tank with and Atmas but still low AS ==> low damage.
Edit: Btw.. thanks for your +1 :D
I dont really like this builds, sry :/
What is the point on using an AD/AS build if you dont have atack skills? Any champ can try AP/AD/TANK whatever... but the point is to make your champ the more effective *** posible keeping on mind his skills/stats.
The only build (imo) that work with shen -besides the classic tank build- is an AP/tanky build, just for making epics shields and your ult can save the *** of any teammate. But... why you take WotA? your only magic damage resource is Vorpal blade.. and is just a single target skill..
But with your build, your shields will be broken so fast because you dont get any resistance or armor. Your ult may become loved by your teammates, but if you need to save and ally on 1v3, once you get there, you will die for sure.
