Hey Summoners! :)

This is my new Shen guide. I had the idea to show you more than one way of playing Shen. In this guide you will see four possibilities.
Well Shen is usually played as a tank. I think many also know AP Shen, but I think playing Shen as AD is pretty new.
So here is my guide...!

So... this style of playing Shen might be pretty new to you. Let's start with the cons:
The bad thing of playing Shen as full AD/AS is that he isn't a tank anymore. 2.3k HP and low resistances are never good for a Melee-Champion, especially not for a champ whose ultimate let him jump in battles and his third ability makes people attack him. Well for sure you won't be able to jump in like a tank Shen anymore but your lifesteal by Vorpal Blade and Hextech will push your survivability very well. Furthermore in you will have more than 90% crit chance in late game. This pushes your 600 damage per second to about 1400 damage per second with the highered crit damage by Infinity's Edge. Another pro is that you have an huge amount of movement speed. With Boots of Swiftness your movement speed is higher than 500 which is already a lot. And if you might need more you can still activate Ghost and Youmous ;D.
Ehh.. and activating Hextech will make a hunting-/escaping success even more easy.



The offtank Shen is something between a full tank Shen and the AD/AS Shen.
Playing as Offtank Shen will give your team a very nice tank and it will give the team a nice damage dealer. Here are the Pro's and Cons.



In comparison to the other two kinds to play to Shen which i've already shown this one doesn't deal much damage. But he has about 4000 HP now. Furthermore he has very high Armor (300+) and magic resist (200+). This makes him very tanky. In combination with his Feint, which is also influenced by Armor and magic resist, he is a real tank for a team. So if your team still needs a full tank, take this one.



AP Shen is something I really like. He deals very high damage, heals himself pretty good and is a very nice supporter by giving teammates a nice shield and teleporting to them. Furthermore he has with good CDR an instant shield with Feint. But playing him on AP also makes him very squishy. 2.4k life with low armor and low magic resist wont make him stay alive for a long time if he is first aim.

This gives you some Armor Penetration. Higher your Damage against all champs. Very useful as AD.

They higher your HP what you may need because you have very low life.

Pushes your damage, just like the Marks.

Just like the runes at AD/AS Shen. More Armor Penetration => more damage.

Highers your survivability, especially against casters.

This small amount of Speed bonus decides whether you can escape or do the last hit on a champ.

Magic Penetration is a must have for every Nuke champ!

I just inserted seals for mana regeneration because there are no energy regeneration runes on MOBAfire. DONT BUY MANA REGENERATION RUNES NOW! Get Energy regeneration.

Highers your AP, especially in late game. This is also a must have for AP-champs

More AP more damage for AP Shen. That's it.

In this section i'll tell you which Summoner Spell you should take, which are other possibilities and which you just shouldn't take. It is just a small part because i think the Summoner Spells can be taken for all different kinds of playing Shen in a similar way.

Ghost highers your movement speed. This is good for hunting and escaping and it's easier to do a successful Shadow Dash.

Exhaust is one of the best summoner spells for Shen. It slows (easy to hit with Shadow Dash) and reduces damage very hard. This can often be used to save your teammates.

Normally I don't use Teleport as my summoner spell. But with Shen or TF this is pretty helpful to support teammates with your ult and return with teleport to your lane.

Pretty useful especially when playing Shen not as tank, like AD/AS or AP/AS.

Flash can be used to do spectacular escapes or get in fight fast. Also useful for ganks. But IMO Shadow Dash can do the work too.

This is only a possibility for Tank Shen. I would take Ghost + Exhaust or Cleanse or Fortify.

Ignite can be used to deal last damage on champs or reduce healing, especially of champs like Mundo. But I think the other Summoner Spells are more useful.

Because of the high cooldown I really don't recommend this. Better don't take it.

Better leave this to the Supporters like Soraka, Taric or Janna etc.

You have no mana! Worst spell for you.

Your shield is good enough.

IMO this Spell would be pretty good for 5n5 premade games. But because of the high cooldown don't take it.
