I don't really care about ratings, but I'm always welcoming any ideas for the site.
Sounds very interesting, although it seems like way to much complication for my tastes. I like the system how it is currently.

History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.

What I think you guys are missing is that doubling or even tripling the upvoting power won't change much. However, doubling or tripling the downvoting power can be completely devastating. If two people with 40 rep downvote that's 4 downvotes. It can completely sink a newer guide or really hurt a moderate one.
As soon as you get to 30+ rep you'll have two choices when voting, either boost it a little bit more or hit it pretty hard.
I think that's a good thing too because most people with lots of +Rep who downvote have a good reason for doing so. That their downvote means more than 2 people in the "mindless masses" is something I think is good regardless of it being an up or down vote.
The moment a religious person unknowingly calls his own ways stupid: "And lol. I highly doubt you have magic powers. If you proved it I would believe you, but since you 'refuse to', I choose not to."
You need to log in before commenting.
This brings up another point. If your votes are worth 2 votes, do you still have the choice to have it just be worth one?
Personally I think that the entire idea is too much trouble for something that may not pay off enough.
That could be solved by making -1/-0.5/0/+0.5/+1 system.
Also i kinda agree that this will just lead to too much problems and bring not that good influence on the system anyway. Also why do ppl care about the ratings sooooo much...
