This isn't free, you have to buy the game. The difference is that it has no monthly fee.
And the "no role" system doesn't really mean you are responsible for yourself, it means you are not so dependent on others. It has the potential to screw up the game, but I doubt they will. I'm sure the way classes synergise with each other is going to be amazing.
