I had to start over because I didnt save before trying to publish. I did this time but I dont know if it went through.
Since these sigs just look so awesome I'm going to use them both.

It will only show as a build, you need at least 5,000 characters for it to show up as a guide when you search for the champion by default.

Clicking "publish" saves AND publishes. You can start a guide and just click publish straight off, you don't have to save first.
I'm not sure what happened with your guide... That is very odd. If you remembered the title then I could take a look for it in the database. It's possible that you got logged out while editing and before you clicked save for the first time, it could possibly have gotten posted as a guest guide.
Not a bad idea to keep a local copy of your written guide on your local computer, just in case :)
