Mainly because English is known as the "global" language (alongside German).
And I wouldn't go so far and saying that English speaking people (I assume your not meaning "English" as in "England") hate those who speak French, but it's very frustrating when someone can't speak understandable English (or English at all) when this is a game based on teamwork.

Hate is a very strong word Overdozed, it's not that intense I can assure you.
Like Scrax said, English is the lingua franca of the world because of all the colonies UK had. If everyone ought to understand each other we prefer to do it in english, right? Frence on the otherhand is not a globalized language, yet the people of France are very proud of their language. And from what I've heard some Frence even refuse to communicate unless it's on Frence! This means that we are not obliged to learn Frence, yet we have the oppertunity same as with Deutsch and Spanish. Afterall, France is not the only country to speak Frence.

I dunno about other places but, in Canada French people have a bit of a bad rep due to the French Canadians. I don't fully understand where it comes from since I live so far away from Quebec, but I know the separatist stuff is part of it. I think some people also get annoyed about the laws stating that packaging and signage all needs to be in both French and English, when there are other languages that are spoken much more commonly in the west besides French.
But nobody cares about Canada so I'll just get back to work ;)

I know Matt but how you said these steps quite the englais who likes not francais these that some person who act like dumbass, but considers. I prefer to play with English with than french and I live in Canada so i care about it!
