HeAt and AnalSamurai are now Veterans as well - we have removed Editor status and basically replaced it. "Editor" sounds like a job, which we never really liked. Veterans will be given access to editing tools shortly, but there is no obligation for you to use them, Veteran status is meant to be a thank you to our most active and dedicated users.
AfghanWalrus, to become a Veteran just keep using the site :) Join our discussions in the Support forum, help us to improve the site and catch issues quickly, get to know everyone else, contribute and be positive. Eventually we will take notice of your behavior and make you a Veteran. You can also be nominated by a current Veteran, however in the end the final decision is up to the Administrators.
Also note that there is no "application process" for being a veteran. Think of it like a gift - it's rude to ask for a gift, but it's nice when you get one!
