lol ya getting first blood is usually enough to prove that it works, although I imagine it takes some convincing to even get mid in the first place

ya that's the catch, while supports can play any role, the characters designed for those roles generally play them better. I mean sure it's fine if you don't have an AD carry and you're in a normal game or something, but otherwise, it's better to stick to support.
