Mordekaiser - Viable in high ELO? Good late game?

Okay, here's the deal. Lately I've seen some people claiming Mordekaiser's complete **** in high ELO and that, while he may be a good champion early-mid game, his late game usefulness scales down, by a lot. As an avid Morde player, I'd like to see some thoughts on this. Why is it he loses usefulness? If the answer is that the enemy starts to stack MR, then the remedy to that is simple. Void Staff. Voila, you do damage again! But the thing I really don't underestand is why people claim that Morde is terrible in high elo? Is it because he has to push to win? Thoughts are welcome.

Well the main problem is that he has no CC, and even if he does get rylai's, he doesn't have any single target moves besides his ult, so the slow is only 15% percent on all of his abilities.
Second, he's extremely predictable. The only thing mord can do to you is run up to you, put his shield on, do his cone, and then hit you with his mace. If he has ult and ignite up, then he'll do that too. If that doesn't kill you, he just blew everything he had and he's now trying to auto attack you.
While I'm not saying he's a bad character, it's just that high ELO players know exactly what mord is going to do to them, and can take steps to avoid, or better, counter it.

On topic: Well Morde can do all that what you said if you've got a good tank/initiator. After the teamfight is initiated, he should just pick a squishy and kill it, and he's done. If he can do more, then all the better. But I think that people underestimate Morde way too often and stay and try to focus him down. I speak from personal experience and 2-3 quadra kills. He can easily turn the tides with his Children of the Grave and his shield is not to be underestimated. But that's just my opinion. Thanks for the feedback!

Morde is good in all elos. Especially in solo que.
Maybe not as good in tournaments, but he's even viable there.

Morde is extremely strong in solo queue at the moment. People have typically been building him wrong, using some sort of tanky AP build while VMan7 and Dyrus have been busy patenting a straight AP build. Revolver, Lich Bane, Deathcap let you farm insanely well while still being able to burst for about 2000 health in a 1v1 and basically never dying in lane. The counter to a good Morde at this point is team coordination, with repeated ganks from the jungler and maybe the roamer, if you have one. Because this isn't very common in solo queue, a good Morde can completely out-CS the mid lane or the top lane and go gank, and apply pressure on the weakest player of the enemy team.

Morde is a very good anti-carry. If your tank is good at initiating you simply find the AD carry and kill them with your Ult and other spells. Building like Jebus illustrated is what makes him more viable like this.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of staright AP builds... still got my suspicions about it. Myself, I prefer tanky AP, but might as well give full AP a shot.

Recently against ALL mords, I realised that beyond early-mid game, they are seemingly useless 0.o. However, he still is decent. I've seen most people just continue building up on tankiness beyond Hextech Revolver/Gunblade, becoming practically useless after a single survival item build on.

I think Mord shouldn't go out of Full AP or high AP at the very least, rather than building him as a tank. He doesn't have anything that makes him good as a tank besides decent stats and a skill to slightly boost a target, but with a nice clone of the opponent's carry, the entire team gets ripped apart within seconds.

I usually see scenarios like Mord early game dealing MASSIVE damage while Mord late game does WEAK amounts of it.
