Ultimate is basically a taunt but the enemy can't move instead of auto-attacking you.
His passive seems awesome it encourages you to harass early. ^^

I might buy him.

I think suppression just means "irreducible-duration CC". It just so happens that the only way to balance the other champions with suppressions was to lock them in with the enemy; alternatively, skarner might not be able to use his other abilities while ulting, and CC may break the suppression.

I think he looks to be a melee DPS or tanky DPS. Maybe even a unique AP/AS melee champion.

But however you look at it, it seems to me that attack speed is going to very important on Skarner.
