So, you're going to be a counselor for what now? People that are afraid of blood, correct?
Where's the camp located? I HAVE QUESTIONS!

Counselor for the Oregon Hemophilia Camp. It was pretty awesome. different vibe from my home camp of Northern California. People that are unable to clot properly. Also, ask away =)
I thought hemophillia was the bodies inability to use bloodcells to clot open cuts. Essentially meaning you could bleed to death from a paper cut.
Wrong. This is why the stigma of Hemophilia is still in the stone age. We cant bleed to death if we get punched in the arm or get a paper cut. That **** will heal in the same amount of time like anyone else. Surface wounds heal quickly in anyone because of the 3 layers of skin. The Epidermis, Dermis, and Subcutaneous Tissue. Unless it is deep enough to reach that 3rd layer, it will heal up like anyone because your skin is constantly 'repairing' itself all the time.
Hemophilia is an inherited deficiency that in my case, has eliminated Factor VIII from my DNA, and that is a clotting factor that I don't have which makes it hard for me to clot at a quick and safe rate. Think internal.
The example I like to give is the paper cut. If we both get a paper cut, they will heal in the same amount of time, but if we both get into a car wreck, and have the same injuries in the same place, mine would be more life threatening than yours would.

I live in WA, but the first one I did was in Northern Cal.
This one is gonna be in Oregon. I have Hemophilia, so it is a Hemophilia camp for kids ages 7-16.
Gonna be my 3rd year being a Counselor, but this is my first year going to Oregon camp, although I know a few of the staff there. Should be really fun, my buddy is actually on his way to come pick me up so we can head out. I should be leaving quite soon.
Wish be the best, I don't want a snotty bunch of kids.
