You can still be a support, but you should farm a bit so you can get some AP.
In my case it only takes a little farm to get the gold I need (2-3 minions every other minion wave).
This is with 3 avarice quints, greed, and a GP/10 item.
EDIT: Avarice quints are dirt cheap (515 IP each) and every champion can benefit from them, so getting them is worth it.

Zero farm support is still the best for your team.
Just take the lasthits you KNOW your partner will miss. It's not easy, but that's what a good support should do.

If you see your teammate is low health of being super passive don't be afraid to go in and take some CS for yourself.

Not necessarily. Zero-Farm Support was more viable.
Riot killed that with this change, so now you need farm to do well.
Your way was still only second best until this patch came along. :P
I said I've been saying it, not that it was more viable. =P
