I would just like some information on how the teams will be picked to compete. i see over 150 teams atm and yet only 64 teams can compete or w.e the max is. is it by elo or by order?

Also, it says your elo must be accurate, but what if you play ranked and it changed? mine certainly did.

At the moment I believe we're going to have a max of 256 teams. If we don't reach that threshold, I THINK only the first 128 teams will be able to play.

Don't quote me on that though.

The turnout has been tremendous! We're super excited about this. We are currently discussing options on how to handle the volume of teams registered... We may have a solution that would give EVERY team a chance, but no promises yet as we're still sorting out the details. Will keep you posted :)

Regarding Elo, we expect that Elo ranks will change by the end of the tournament, so it's not a huge deal. However, if your average team Elo changes drastically you should let us know to be safe, especially before the tourney starts.

also, for the elo is it your highest or solo queue?
Wanna give us insight on how teams will be picked and an estimate of amount of teams competing?
Also, it says if the 2 teams don't play eachother there will be a coinflip, but what if the other team wouldn't negotiate a time and
simply didn't try to have an arranged time to play? would it still be by a coinflip or would said team be disqualified?

1) Just pick your highest Elo for now.

2) We will likely be able to have ALL teams compete, regardless of what the final total is. It will mean giving out bys. We may just give a lot of bys in the first round to settle the numbers so that from round 2 and on everything is simple, or we may have to give out random bys throughout the tournament. We're leaning towards settling it in the first round, as it is nice and simple.

3) If your team can demonstrate that they made an honest effort to set up their matches and the other team did not, we will not coin flip. We will disqualify the other team. This is why we recommend you do your match planning on MOBAFire.com itself because that way we can go back and read the logs and see what actually happened.

I also recommend taking screenshots to show that your team was there on time, so if the other team doesn't show you can just send us the screenshots and we'll know you're telling the truth.

Additionally, our tournaments have a standard time zone. If you are outside that time zone, and it is causing troubles finding a compatible time against another team that is within that time zone, you will be disqualified. We had trouble in the past with, for example, Australian players being unable to find compatible times with US or EU players. We can't just repeatedly coin flip for these teams, so if they can't make it work within standard times then they will be disqualified.

Similarly for teams with tight schedules due to school, work, restricted computer/internet access. If you can't flexibly make matches, we don't want to spoil the tournament for those that can, and you will have to leave the tournament.

If you read the extended rules, it discusses a lot of this there as well. We are still evolving those rules so if you see any issues or have any suggestions on improving those rules just let us know!

One more thing, when can we expect to have the list of teams and their opponents in first round?

We'll be posting a more detailed list of the teams today. The actual round 1 matches won't be posted until the tournament starts. The start date is listed on the tournament page, it starts Monday Sept 19th. We will probably have the matches up just before midnight (end of day Sunday) at the latest though. As the tournament details state, you will have until Sunday at 5pm to finish your 3 matches, so almost a full week.
