It's situational. If you do ranked and you're FORCED to play a position you are not that good with...I'd /ignore all and try my best.

Friend one picks Nidalee and waits to see if someone else is needed.
Friend two picks Teemo and waits to see if someone else is needed.
The other two insta lock Nocturne and Caitlyn and starts to shout "Pick tank" "Pick tank ffs"
Me: WTF you can't force me what to do, if you want a tank, PICK A ****ING TANK!

*Picks someone random and tells them to go **** theirselves*

When they lose: "noob team, its just the ELO hell"
When they win: "yeah, out of ELO hell"
The difference: None. They are going to return to that said ELO hell because they believe on it. When they lose, the team is blamed. And when win, think they did everything, carried the whole game.
I cant connect to the chat (went today to a friends house and the problem is in my internet), so I check the team and choose the champion. Most of times Sona, but I've been training as Irelia, Yorick and Cho to tank and deal damage.
QQ is no answer, it demonstrates how stupid you can be. Of course there are matches that the defeat is ensured, but when not, cheer the team.
Saying: "wtf, ridiculous build", "u suck hard, uninstall" will make you lose anyway, you are making someone give up of playing.
I'll stop writing.

I agree highly. Its actually the reason I don't play ranked yet.
I feel like I'm a decent player, but I want to be more than "decent" with a wider range of characters before I enter ranked because at one point I will be FORCED into that situation, and I don't want that to stop me.

Thats really important, but dont force yourself too much. Every person can play as any role, but there are roles you just suck and others you master.
Try to know the ones you are best and train them. If you want any help, just ask or PM me too. I'll answer your doubts too.
Strife between team members causes anxiety, and therefore more mistakes to be made.
