Those are simply my preferences for masteries. Most people don't like it, but I do. It means I get more out of my play early game. Late game, 10% of your death time is large, but I don't believe it's large enough a cooldown to justify it. I'll take all the extra stats I can for during, and after a fight.
Many people do recommend the early BT and Tri Force. Here are why I don't use them: Because BT stacks, it makes people focus you. Think of seeing someone with a Mejai's Soulstealer or Sword of the Occult. You don't want to be focused early. Tri force is more viable than BT, but not too much. The only reason I would get it earlier is for the movement speed. The damage proc is nice, but Infinity Edge makes you hit so hard that it may as well be a proc already. In short, the instant you have the IE in your kit, you can 4 hit burst almost anyone.
Thanks for the response, hope I've cleared up some stuff for you.
I read up more on the info, did a whole lot of math, and switched the masteries around. Thanks for that. Still stand by what items I take. The damage early on is just too much. I still don't care that BT stacks, you won't have 10 kills in a few minutes. And you are more likely to lose all of them.
The last point you make is worthy of its own separate paragraph! As said in the build, vary it however you want to. Every now and then I do actually get The Brutalizer, but more often than not I will get the avarice blade because it gives me a high gold yield over time if we're forced into turtling or I have to make up for a bad team.
Infinity Edge is underated on Talon. Critical strikes NEVER hurt a champion using them unless you begin to rely on it. The reason I like Infinity Edge as a rushed item is because farm becomes easier, and when it does crit, the enemy is not going to enjoy it. The critical chance is just a bonus thrown in with the massive AD. As said before as well, IE is more reliable than taking a Bloodthirster, for which you need to stack. Lifesteal won't make a huge difference unless you are doing 1000 damage per hit.
Zeal isn't an item I put into its own category because of crit either. Zeal is good for that extra move speed, which I value far above its crit and AS stats. It also later builds into the Trinity Force. Moreover, Cloak and Dagger is perfect for avoiding death due to its now balanced tenacity. Most of the time you will want to sell this item later in the game.
Couple of tips though.
1) Don't get health quints for champions like Talon. Flat AD benefits him a LOT more.
2) You definitely want Flash over Ghost. Flash is just an overall awesome spell, and a Flash Ult while chasing is deadly.
3) You probably want an early The Brutalizer instead of the items listed before, because it's one of the best cost-efficient early game DPS items. You also shouldn't get IE that early either. Talon benefits more from Flat AD then Crits. Also, the zeal is unnecessary, because of the crits benefiting less, along with that Cloak and Dagger being included in your build.
Regarding the masteries I agree to disagree but that's ok, everybody can play how he wants to and I would never force you my opinion.
I see your point in taking the Infinity Edge early. Did not do the maths on talon yet so I can not say for sure which weapon gets the upper hand in what situation early but I believe the differences to be quite marginal anyway.
But I would never down- vote somebody who is the owner of a super awesome Yi pony signature anyway so you could even stack Rabadons ;)
(Remember, it's a humorous answer)
Attacks stacks on ad so Bt first
Did you listen to anything I said?
You lose ALL stacks if you die with Bloodthirster.
I'm not going to make myself a target for the rest of the game because it is stacking.
Solid build, nice editing...
If you can explain me why you took Perseverence which gives you a bonus of 0,16 hp/5 seconds / 0,12 mana/5 seconds over Good Hands , which can become quite useful as a squishy assassin, I will keep this guide up- voted ;)
PS: Also I would recommend either Bloodthirster or Trinity Force over an early Infinity Edge
