Okay, thats "something". Sry its not useless, I just would exchange it for anything else... and again late game it´s just the same compensation as early only a tad worse.

You've simply never seen a good one.

It's very strong, he can lane against almost any champion and has the tools to either farm in safety or even win the lane (I win most of my lanes) and then end game he's a beast. I beat GP's, Nidalee, etc. Just about anything you can imagine in a lane, I can beat or go even with it using AD Sion.

He feels to me pretty much the same as Cho Gath in lane.

Also, the reason jungle Sion's not a great choice is because of the passive being so farm dependant. In that regard, he's better suited to a solo where he cam farm freely.

I hesitated after that last part. You didnt assume I was talking about Ap before, did you?

Even so: Nobody talked about late game, since I already stated that imo he´s the strongest champ in terms of autohitting, he´s pretty much the same as every melee who relies heavily on autohits (Tryn for example).
Seeing how you talk about beating nearly everything in lane on AD, you making me doubt that you face strong enemies while playing Sion.
Sion outlane anything ranged? You make me laugh somehow (not that i wouldnt wish for that since I love playing melee), but you tell me that you outlane a STRONG/GOOD/DECENT Nidalee (only for example there are tons of other options) while playing AD Sion?... Srysly, no.

And comparing him to Cho´Gath, maybe that´ll make my opinion clearer:
For me Cho´ is pretty different from AD Sion, since Chogath can be attacked with a melee easily since you only need to evade his Rupture. But if you cant force him back enough he´ll just go after the minions and reg himself, leaving you in the dust if you cant do the same.
Cant see Sion regging himself even close to that using items. If Sion takes some harassment he wont able to recover himself enough to stay a constant threat.
(Also if you talk about things AFTER you become lvl 6... what the hell do you do to get there?)

I currently main those two champs. Cho Gath and AD offtank Sion. Because they are so similar.

If you're a non believer, take it to a custom game and I'll show you how easy it is for Sion to hit 6 against any opponent. Effortless.

In fact, you might be more concerned about hitting 6 than me :P

You can play anything you want. Take Nidalee if you like.

AP Sion is situational at best. At least, there are a few heavy founter picks to him. For example Annie :
- You won't get close enough to stun her when you want
- Annie can burst your shield down with Q+W, so you don't deal any damage with that
- Annie has some free Armor in her E, which lower the damage you deal to her significantly (as in, you won't 1-shot her in lane unless you are far ahead)
- If you want to farm, you get harassed by auto-attacks and some Q-spells while your shield is down

And on top of that, Annie is incredibly easy to play, so many people can actually handle her..

Kassadin is much more viable and actually an excellent counter to most mage enemies (once you hit 6).

I recommend Annie. She can be played very aggressive, but you have to carefully watch your positioning since she has "only" her E as defense (which is btw. actually rather strong, but nothing will save you from 4 enemies jumping on you).

I've been searching for an AP champion to play, but I don't work well with your standard squishy ranged caster.

I'm on a search for that agressive style AP champion that is viable in ranked play.

- Fiddlesticks is fragile but he can roams the jungles and drain himself full life in no time. Completely viable in ranked, and really cheap. Often banned.
- Rumble is 4800 IP, which still is slightly less than 6300. He's like a god in solo top and definitely not squishy. Completely viable, but often banned.
- Mordekaiser is technically still an AP bruiser, but i really don't know if he's that viable in ranked, especially since he's been nerfed down to his knees.
- Akali is squishy but has great defensive mechanisms. She's not too much expensive, deadly (and gorgeous).
- Gragas is a good, fatty, kinda solid AP caster, with a good regenerative passive. 3150 IP.
- AP Alistar remains completely viable, but in ranked he will most likely fall in the support, or even jungle, role.

- As for AP Sion : scary early game, too easily countered late game (one CC and his shield goes poof while everyone has gone far away). Good ganks, but in ranked he won't be able to leave his lane without it being noticed and avoided.
I'm never wrong ; reality may be.

I just suggested Swain because he wanted a Ap caster who is viable in ranked.

But he's also the opposite of aggressive...

If you want an aggressive AP that is viable in ranked, then play someone Sion, Xerath, Cassiopea, Brand, Akali, Katarina, LeBlanc or Veigar.

Some of these champions are more/less viable, but they are all legitimate picks.
Tri lane for life.

Seriously guys... Sion can beat so many at mid and if you see enemy pick Kassadin he will beg you to not pick Sion. Kassadin just can't beat your shield.

3 Doran's Ring and Mobility Boots (+ proper runes) and you can clear entire minion waves at mid and then go gank the sidelanes. It's very effective with a Taric in the botlane as well.

And if you wonder (I'm 1700 rating)
