In ranked games i try to use modern strategies, I have played for example Annie-support a year before it came famous.
They still haven't nerfed WotA. It's still OP.

the survivability loss from picking up WotA vs Gunblade ive found to be a slight problem, while the spell vamp and AP+ aura is bad ***, the life steal from gunblade is pretty hawt, hopefully they pull their heads out and rebuff it a little bit, or reduction in price even would be nice.
Mmhmm, the life steal was a realistic part of her ridiculous lane and 1v1 capability.

Well I can't really comment seeing as I don't recall what the "best" Akali build was.
However it would seem that there are other more important items.

... buy a vampiric scepter? It's almost as cheap as boots, and if you really need the item space, then you're clearly far enough into the game that you can sell it for something else. If you really want the lifesteal (and have lich bane already) then a vamp scepter will give you a lot of sustain on its own.
Yeah but it seems not worth it. I dunno. :P

I generally agree, since almost everything that builds from a vamp scepter is pretty bad for akali.
I think it would be really funny to see an akali with a bloodthirster as a final item. XD
