That is how I have my runes for Akali. You need to setup your Masteries too so you'll just reach enough AD together with runes to trigger passive. And ofcourse AP runes for extra damage.

Take 4 flat AP glyphs and 5 scaling. With AP quints you still get above 19.5AP with that (yes, 19.5 AP is the right number).

Good that you said that cause I was thinking of doing this for my Akali runepage so I didn't have to pay for both 9 flat APs and 9 scaling APs. :P

^ Westrice does something similar in the new version of his Akali guide, he replaces one AP quint with a health quint to get it at level 2.
